Hey, sorry to bother about the rules of this category again, but I genuinely like this category so I want it to make sense as well. I think these things should be added to the rules as well:
-
Using TNT/bombs to parkour is disallowed.
-
You may only use TNT/bombs to explode cracked walls (This means no using Fire Charge, Feu de Dinn, levers or redstone to ignite TNT/bombs.)
-
Re-picking already placed water is disallowed (I don't think it's intended to do so, the same way as you are not supposed to re-pick already placed ladders and stuff)
Then a question: Is death warping allowed if you press the buttons & levers to put your spawn point? (=No incorrect death warping, but just death warping to back-track quicker).
Where's the Individual Levels? This game has chapters with a working new game selection, so I don't see a reason why there's none.´
Also, I feel like it's redundant to have "No Scripts" in the category name, as there are no scripted category. Scriptless is default in almost any speedrun game.
Another thing - is there a reason to separate 2015 version and 2010 version? I couldn't find a way to download the old one. If you want to keep them separate, please put up a guide how to install 2010 version properly.
Hey,
Does the timer start when pressing "Play Selected World" or when you start moving? Both Any% NMG & Glitchless do this differently.
Same with the ending, does the timer stop when the castle is exploded or when you press the lever?
Also, expressing my opinion that the category names are kinda bad cuz moving blocks is not a glitch, just an exploit.
What's the current rule for timing the run? When does it start and when does it end? In the HappyPigsGaming's 20:02, the timer starts from gameplay, but in Tooshi's 20:04 it starts from the name selection.
Also, what's the exact frame when the timer ends at? Cuz I timed Tooshi's run when the magic trail stops moving and it's 20:04.10, not 20:04.29.
Re-timing HappyPigsGaming's 20:04 start being from the name select to magic trail stop, the run is 20:04.45, so not even a new world record.
There's this one case, where my run is about to be rejected since the leaderboard is made for "archival purpose". It is an older version of the game, and a couple of the moderators want to keep the leaderboard as so, hence the rejection. (all runs are from 3-4 years ago).
- It is totally possible to run this older version of the game with no problems.
Is it allowed to keep this kind of "archived" leaderboards and rejecting further runs? If they are allowed to reject, what should they write in the rules? The older version is even listed in the Resources section of the SRC page..
I am fully aware of the rule when submitting a new game that it must not be highscore based. However, what about highscore categories inside of games? I came across of such instance in https://www.speedrun.com/cgggd/full_game#Highscores
