I know this is probably going to get a "no" but I just want to clarify. Are macros that freeze your fps at a certain level at the press of a button (e.g freeze at 60FPS just before doing a wall hop) banned along with macros that flick your camera for you?
Trevor, you can literally just dm the VIP runners that their runs have been moved to PUBs because VIP has been rendered a void category. If they dont respond, and new runners get confused they can either look at THIS forum or ask someone to explain. Its that simple.
Edit: Someone needs to come to a decision, there's no point sitting around thinking and discussing it if no one is going to decide to implement these changes.
Thinking is one thing, doing is another.
"It doesnt feel right" isnt really a valid reason for not moving VIP runs to PUB runs. Why? Because there is no difference between VIP and PUBs except the fact that its quicker/easier to do co-op runs with people you know rather than randoms. The game still works the same way regardless of whether the server is VIP or PUB.
Mine is also a bit mixed, so I'm not sure.
So according to the rules, if you do a solo run in a public Server you must press every button or run is considered coop.
I just want to clear one thing up for when there is more than 3 people in a public server (which there often is) and the multi button comes into play. Obviously other people are also going to have to press the button so you can continue to progress the level, my question is whether or not a run is considered valid if you press every button but other people had to press the multi buttons also.
It has now been a month since this was suggested and no other mods have replied, so yes I think it is time to go forward with these changes.
And yes it would be appreciated if you could help out with setting up the categories. We will also have to go through runs again to correctly resort them. Edit: You can talk to me about it on discord.
Wait so if you're playing killer, and you don't include the main menu but you include you returning to the lobby does it still count as a valid run?
First we need to establish how we actually add these categories to the game.
Should we go ahead with it now? It's clear a good few people want these changes. Or do we wait for a few more mods?
Most people seem to want these changes, so should we now go ahead and alter the rules?
Not sure, mods will have to discuss it. Only three people have commented on it so far so.
You have to submit the time the last person to finish the level got. And Rex, unless there's more than 5 people speedrunning EVERYONE must record their POV for the submission.
Agreed, makes it more fair and less RNG based, which is the whole point, it doesn't matter if some people got faster times with more people. Although there is no rule against the use of alt accounts to lessen players, spectating to find their location is technically cheating, but there's no way to prove if zironic was doing that or not, so the mods can discuss that issue another time if need be, but I'm not gonna be the person to take it down, due to the fact it looks bad on my part since I'd just get my WR back. Back to the topic of this forum, when this board was set up it should have been added in the rules you had to have 4 survivors vs you for beast% and for survivor% you should have 3 other survivors + yourself against the beast from the start. But now we have a bunch of verified runs on the board with less than 4 players against the beast on both sides, so it's unfair to everybody who grinded if we just delete them. So instead of deleting them we sort them into different categories according to how many players are in the game. This also adds much more variety for categories to speedrun. We currently only have 6 categories in total.
