Right yeah like have a list of tags to choose from, not just a free text to put whatever, kind of how twitch has tags for streams now for different things. Really high level and basic is what I was going for.
So like if I was looking for a SNES "platformer" speedrun I could sort by console and the tag "platformer" and see whats out there
Yeah I understand games have multiple categories. Usually there is a "Main" category or first one listed when you pull up a game. It could pull just from there anyways just as another way to sort and check for potential games to run when looking for under a specific length.
As far as Genre sorting, the site could implement some sort of tagging to each game where multiple tags could be added by mods for sorting and searching purposes. Games could be both "platformer" and "shooter" tags for instance.
Just some thoughts thats all
Bumping this since it is now on as a category. Some additional rules have been added for co-op speedruns:
-Selecting 1 Player is allowed to start -Death abuse is allowed

@Daravae they do not have DMs open on Twitter and I had no luck finding them in discord either. I sent a twitch whisper but idk if they have them enabled or not.
I dont care too much more otherwise just figured it would be worth it to have more than one mod for the game since the one isn't too active on the site.

There is only 1 mod listed and they are not terribly active on the site. Dont expect too much traffic for this game but I am active on the site and wouldnt mind moderate the board. I have 2 runs waiting verification at the moment under any% one pending 12 days one for 3 days which i know isnt a lot of time but figured would just ask to help moderate the board since I am active on the site. I know for SNES that the ZSNES emulator is not allowed period due to inaccuracy and that's universal so not sure if genesis was the same in any way that's why I'm asking here.
Yeah its not for the particular game im asking for thats why i am asking here. I know some emulators do not run accurately i am not familiar with genesis at all hoping someone with some general knowledge here can help! I found a few emulators on my own i just do not know which are best and/or accepted or accurate

yes that is the version i first was playing on as well. The enemy spawns are not as heavy in that particular version of the game it seems!
there are different versions yes. like you will get different spawn in US vs JP. There are even different version of JP i found out. I have 2 different JP carts and get 2 different patterns of enemy spawns. Also on one of my carts the final boss sprite is not giltched out too
