United States@re_duke I know this is off topic but who submitted RE3 cheated runs? It seems like a tough game to ever cheat and not get caught.
I personally agree with @Holysoul . I am not trying to be a purist in any way when I say this as I support the patch itself and GL tool. But the favorable RNG imo would change way to much of the game and "potentially" could take away/become more popular than Any%. Also I'm not sure how many people would find it fun to watch a run if the RNG was always the same. But I guess that's all down to personal opinion.
That being said, if the community voted for it to be a category then that's what it is. I wouldn't complain or anything. I've always been a fan of Any% cause the RNG makes the gameplay interesting and keeps you on your toes.
I have the same issue. Luckily you can still click in the boxes to change the keys to what you want. I was able to remap my controls with the same view.
Hey its been a long while since I submitted here but I just got sub 50. I had the GLT open but the game naturally gave me the launcher. So I marked that I didn't use the tool since I kind of didn't.
Does that break a rule? If so can a mod please change that part of my submission. Thanks

@hntd187 When I launch the game (which I am also launching from a shortcut on the desktop) a window will open like the game is going to start, then it just closes. If that happens I will sometimes have to repeat the same process another 1-2 times. Then the game launches and runs np.
But even if I close the game and immediately try to reopen it the same thing can happen.
@hntd187 so something I did notice for me at least is that sometimes I have to launch the game 2-3 times before it actually starts. Cause since I installed the overlay this happens maybe 50% of the time.
I am running steam version, dx11, mostly high settings, locked 60fps, 1080p, I am using msi/rivatuner for FPS counter, and windows 10 fully updated.
Yeah I was pissed. I'm by no means a great runner. I have been grinding to get sub 1 hour. And I was well on pace when it froze. But I had dealt with so much bs from earlier runs that I actually found it a little funny lol.
@RE_Speedruns damn man, that's a rough one. I had my game freeze on me randomly near the end of Carlos hospital. I don't have the footage anymore sadly. Could have easily been a pb.
Yeah honestly I don't think most runners really care that much about the intro (in my opinion). I have been having some bad runs the last couple days which required me to reset a lot. So I have been playing the intro more than I'd like to admit. But its not that bad tbh. I think of it as part of the game and I personally would be annoyed if I skipped it cause I would feel like its not a real run. Idk just my 2 cents.
EDIT: To clarify I am saying most people (probably) have no problem running the apartment part of the game.

@SauceDallas93 something I figured out is when I go for the tail dodge for the first 2 guys you have to wait a second before pressing the dodge key. With the 3rd guy its harder though because you can get to his tail quicker.
hmm idk. You would have to ask the dude who made it. For me it started right away. Maybe try removing the file, running the game, then adding the file again to see if it works.
You have to rename the file and when running the game press the insert key. Then from the menu that pops up you can turn on the overlay.
I don't think they will accept the run without the FPS counter visible.
