The snowball in the Snow Resort obviously makes a snowman when put on the body, that being its "secret".
There is something much more interesting about the snowball.
One day a Go Vacation expert who's a friend of mine decided to try to roll the snowball up to the top of the Snow Resort. It took months of planning, routing, learning the physics of the ball. Particularly annoying were the damn ski NPCs knocking it back down.
But as he got closer and closer to the summit, it seemed as if the mountain were made for this challenge. It got harder to see and control, steeper, and harder to avoid skiers near the top.
One fateful attempt, he was mere steps away from the summit plateau, when a skier spawned in out of nowhere and knocked the snowball to the side. Completely turned around, looking away from the ball about to roll down the mountain, he managed to knock it up the wall to the side and over the skier and elevation dip onto the plateau.
It was the most glorious thing I've ever seen in that game.
Rolling the snowball up the Snow Resort added a huge layer of depth and strategy to the game that it took a skilled player several weeks of play time to accomplish. Since then, he's only gotten better, making it to the top in one shot without it being bumped away. Optimally, it would take around 20 minutes.
Go Vacation speedrunning would highly benefit from a Snowball% revolution.
I know it’s “speedrun”.com but Wii Fit Plus should have score attack leaderboards for the games that don’t require a best time to demonstrate best skill. At the very least there should be alternate boards; like for Bird’s Eye Bull’s Eye, ‘No Targets’ and ‘All Targets’ boards would make much more sense than only the un-intended form of time attack.
Please clarify...could time be saved by skipping the time spent with the cat suit slipping on the flag pole? Couldn't you just find another item somewhere, swap it with the cat suit right before the flag pole, and get to "Course Clear" quicker? It would shave seconds off the end of each level. Am I missing something?
