1:36.49 for my first run (Any%). I'm surprised to see that first runs that are under 1:45 are pretty rare though. Thought I would be really bad at speedrunning before my first run.

In the speedrun rules for SM64, it says "No restrictions", so you obviously can. I think that no matter which game you're running, you can die during the run if you're not on Deathless category (and this category doesn't exist in SM64)
