Alright, I've finally come to the conclusion to just add the new rule.

I almost did but I held off on it in case there was a better solution for the situation.

If I remember correctly you right click and click on the option that says forward (or play, I don't remember but I think it's forward). You can also press the f key instead of clicking (which is why I think it's forward). I haven't played this game in years though so I honestly don't know how reliable this is but if it helps it helps.

Mirson has had 2 runs in pending for a while now due to the fact that I have been stalling thinking of what to do with them, and I'm making this thread to type out my thoughts on the subject and see what others think about it (because I don't want to see those runs in pending anymore).

So, the runs use quitting and continuing to reset the in game timer to the time it was at when you first reach a checkpoint. This, in my opinion, is fine for certain situations (like if the game literally can not function after a certain checkpoint), but I kind of don't like the idea of using it to the point where it's technically faster to restart the level, but you keep a small IGT anyways.

I have two solutions for this. Solution #1 is a new rule that bans the use of quitting and continuing outside of situations that stop you from playing the game. Solution #2 is swapping the entire leaderboard to real time.

So let's talk about it.

The reason runs take so long to get verified is literally because of me, sorry. I'm pretty much the only "active" mod left for the game and I haven't really been on the website in months. Game needs more mods, but I know as soon as a new one shows up odds are I'm just gonna end up inactive again and the cycle shall continue.

As for the runs that have been in pending for 7+ months, there's a whole different reason why I haven't touched those and I don't really want to talk about it here (I'll make another forum thread for that).

So there you go. I'll try to verify a few runs now since I have the time, but the really long ones are still going to take a while.

Way too much has to go right for it to happen. If I'm close to getting it something always fucks up later.

Got 3:59 with it. Going for a lower time.

For anyone who wants to know, I'm pretty sure the fastest you can complete the first tornado section is 1:09, maybe 1:08 or 1:07 but I haven't gotten close to that yet. The fastest time I've gotten there is 1:12. I'm also pretty sure the fastest time you can have after the first boss fight is 0:34, there's a chance 0:33 is possible too but you'd have to be REALLY lucky to get that.

This level's starting to get real clean now, I'd love to see everything come together soon. Nice run!

If you do it like this it actually saves a good chunk of time. The way to do it before was to web zip into a wall and it was kind of awkward to set up correctly, and maneuvering out of bounds was kind of difficult so this is a good change. Also I looked into it and there's no way to skip the fight in the boss room.

Just tested it on 360, it works. Not sure how much faster this is compared to actually fighting hobgoblin though, I kind of want to test that now.

Do you have an estimate in how much time this saves?

I'm gonna try to make an attempt at recording some runs today but my capture card is being an asshole right now.

I got a 4:08, but I fucked up a lot lol. I'm thinking either 3:30 or 3:29 is the perfect time now.

Also I don't have any recordings yet. My capture card is hdmi only and I'm not using an hd tv atm, it would take too long to set up right now. Plus my 360 is dying, it's an original 360.

And another thing, I think this is 100% faster than my method for a full game run since A, you don't have to watch a cutscene and B, it's literally just faster in general.
