Hello. I am not really that into speedrunning and just want to put something out here.

Streamer found a way to supercharge a prop in a HL2 stream and tried to replicate it in Black Mesa.

The guys over at HL2 said that "charging" a prop so it flings you across with whatever energy you charged it with seems to be new information. So again. Just putting it out here.

For anyone who is intrested how he does it in HL2 with a train here is the post over there. https://www.speedrun.com/hl2/forum

Hmm at this point I am just fangirling for the ability to charge a prop.

But the Streamer could replicate it in Black Mesa... so it does not really bring progress since its another game. But he did it there with the railcar.

My knowledge of HL2 is limited so I am just putting this out here. Since the railcar seems to be enough. Is there any moment in HL2 where something on a set path could be utilized? Like a Combine vehicle or something like that.

Fun Fact for the ones who diddnt get entangled in his streams. He managed to bring the Trolley all the way to the Prison.

Also he managed to find a way to jump from the trolley and bring it with him with the gravity gun... Would this maybe make it viable WHEN there would be a convienient moment to charge a prop beside the train?

Oh Thanks. Yeah okay if it not new then my amazement is a bit lower. But cool that "charging" a prop seems to be new.

From what I could get from the stream the charges only fling you up when you receive upwards momentum while standing on the charged prop. Walkin on it too casual seems to apply a tiny amount of it so one have to be carfull while goin on it. Also jumping on it triggers it too. If you stand on it and shoot the grav gun you can also target the direction more accuratly.

Are there any other big moving hitboxes in the game one could use for this? I imangine it is not exclusice to the train. And it should work with any undestructable prop.

"There HAS to be a way..." :D

So a certain streamer messed around with a trolley (he wants to bring one specific through as much of the game as possible)

And he managed to stop the train on the bridge and could use the now stuck trolley as a catapult with enourmous reach... I guess the Physics engine stores the energy from the train in the trolley?

I dont know how usefull this could be or if it is even new. But maybe it could lead to a massive skip if one could manage to be catapulted into the right direction.

EDIT: The Trolley becomes supercharged after this... (Timestamp 03:20:00) Again... I dont know if this is even new but it seems awsome. After the traincharging the Trolley keeps the momentum stored even over loadscreens and can be used for catapulting. I Hope people start experimenting with this. Please tell me thit is new Tech :D

Its pretty much the 3:00:50 mark

PS: Stream number 3 is highly reccomended. Really shows problem solving skills and a speedrunners mindset when it comes to "this HAS to work somehow"
