Hi there. So it's hard to give advice without seeing a video of how you attempt the trick, so if you have the ability to provide that it would help a lot. I'd suggest joining the OoT Speedrunning discord and posting in there if you do. Otherwise it might help to know that ending up in deku basement likely indicates the blue warp wasn't loaded for enough frames (ie you were too fast reaching the area past the hump) and kokiri emerald cutscene likely means it was loaded for too many frames (ie too slow reaching the area past the hump). After crossing the hump the blue warp becomes unloaded and stops counting up, so the trick is mainly about having consistent movement to that point after cancelling OI. I'd make sure you're throwing the first nut at a good time (about 1 step down should work) then holding target + right during the animation to make sure you sidewalk asap. Also make sure to let Link reach full speed before and after the 2nd nut throw.

If by "2nd edition" you mean N64 v1.1, then the most notable glitch patched is probably Blank A. You can read more about version differences here: https://www.zeldaspeedruns.com/oot/generalknowledge/version-differences

Typically for a new extension category to be added there needs to be interest from at least a few different runners, after which the category can go through a submission process for evaluation by mods and receive a minimum number of required runs to make the category permanent. (Usually between 1 and 10.) We have this system in place so the boards don't become cluttered with categories that see little to no competition. If you'd like to drum up interest for your category from other players, I suggest joining the OoT Speedrunning Discord and making a post in one of the extensions channels.

We don't typically add new categories at the request of only one person, and a run like this would likely go on the extensions leaderboard rather than the main leaderboard. If you'd like to discuss the possibility of adding a category to the extensions leaderboard, I'd suggest joining the OoT speedrunning discord and making a post about your category in one of the extensions channels to garner interest from other players. If there is substantial interest, we can begin the submission process to have it added to the board, which entails an evaluation by mods before adding it as a "pending" category on the leaderboard, and requiring a minimum number of submitted runs (usually between 1 and 10 depending on how meaningful the category is) from different players across a month-long period to make it permanent.

145 BPM.

The angle watches onscreen are a feature of the practice rom, aka gz, which can be used on emulator. If you're using Dolphin (which you should be for any%), you can patch gz onto the Wii Virtual Console version and open that with Dolphin. Here's a link to the practice rom website: https://www.practicerom.com/

If you need help with anything else I'd recommend asking in the OoT speedrunning discord, as we have many more people active in there who are able to answer questions.

I'd recommend checking the rules again, we allow Dolphin alongside PJ64 1.6/1.7. It doesn't matter whether you run on a Mac or not, the word "macros" refers to controller inputs like to create a tas, maybe that's where the confusion came from? But yeah 1.6 isn't recommended to be used, Dolphin is generally the way to go as long as you've got it configured properly. (The emulation rules go over that)

GameCube is already an option on the leaderboard that you can submit runs to, we allow all official releases of vanilla Ocarina of Time which includes the GameCube versions. Wii running the GameCube version is still considered GameCube because the two systems are essentially equivalent.

The Virtual Console version of the game, released on the Wii Shop Channel (now discontinued, but still obtainable through homebrew)

The Brawl demo is not considered an official release of the game. It's a demo with a 5 minute time limit, so you won't get far using that aside from the extension categories we have specifically dedicated to it. If you have the ability to run the Brawl version though, you should also be able to use WiiVC if you're on a Wii or Dolphin emulator, which is much more widely applicable and commonly used for most categories.

N64 and WiiVC have slightly different routes but are mostly the same. If you filter by console on the any% leaderboard you can find runs performed on the N64 route to use as an example. Here is part of a post from the OoT speedrun discord going over the key differences from VC:

you can follow an updated any% tutorial for VC. it's mostly the same as the VC route, except: -the filename is ラをニヌラか3モ (80366F70 800F037C) -you can't pause inside houses or it will crash so make sure you do your equips outside the shop before mido -the fast strat for getting the final angle uses a down-right flick with a good notch. once you get to angle 0x8000, you can just flick down-right to angle 0x2000, then ESS counterclockwise to 0xaca0. or the tsundere strat works as well if you're not ready for the down-right flick. -and finally once you cross the load you have to roll to deku tree

Here is a site you can use to help type the filename (copy and paste the numbers and it will highlight each character): https://lemon32767.github.io/ootfname

And here are 2 tutorial videos for the VC route: Hope this helps! Join the OoT discord if you have any further questions.

We consider Ship of Harkinian to be a different game since it has entirely new code written for it and makes some pretty major gameplay changes. It's not really comparable to the official releases, and therefore it's not accepted on the main boards. It's possible a new leaderboard could be created for it but that would be up to someone else to handle.

Kokiri forest is around 145bpm so you could use something like this

Sidenote though I would recommend joining the discord if you're able to, as not many people are actively answering questions here in comparison (I only just saw this today ^^; haha)

Thanks for the heads up, updated the link for the new domain.

I'm not sure I understand your question, can you be more specific?

If you mean time cutoff for emu submissions, it's 10% of the existing world record for each category.
