You should edit it then! There's a link at the bottom of every page to edit and then propose the changes.

I am almost ready to add this. I just want people's thoughts on if 100% has to be run on Newtonian for the Newtonian challenges or if you run on Assisted/Normal you do not have to complete those challenges.

The website link is intended for community resources. Which I have finally had the chance to publish a very in development wiki site.

We would have to create an autosplitter that looks at memory locations for the timer on when it's running or not and when levels are changed. It is not trivial unfortunately.

.lss files are actually XML. Splits for HB are trivial since there is only 7 days. I've been working on a centralised repository for this sort of stuff though so I'll see if I can work on it tonight a bit more and push it out in an unfinished "beta" state but one that will allow people to start contributing.

Edit: Some unexpected events (all good don't worry) popped up this week. I might be able to get this out on the weekend or next week.)

As a fellow game developer I can understand the feeling of wanting to end work on a game. 2pt will most likely be only fixing the very last few critical bugs and not adding any more features or polish (which adding thousandths to a speedrun timer is).

So I've run the numbers.

39 Level Tasks + 21 Challenges = 60 Things. I believe that is a true 100%. Removing Newtonian challenges (60-7) would result in an 88% type thing.

There is a challenge in Vision which tells you to make the Telescope without using the crane arms but a mission objective is to repair the crane arms. I wonder if repairing the crane arms then fails that challenge. I'll see if I can test at some point this week. If we allow skipping that mission objective then it would become a 98% run.

Yes, this is my bad. I had added the DLC days without properly testing how the level timer interacted with the DLC days. Hence why there isn't a specific rule about it. There is a patch in the works to make the level timer behave properly so I don't mind retiming manually for the short period where the level timer is broken.

When comments were first released it was flooded with spam and vitriol. Kotaku article about when it happened.

Since things have seemed to calmed down since then I'll see what other people think about it. In the mean time you can join the discord server!

I thought about this for a while. I can easily see a collectables run category but 100% would be completing all the challenges per level. My only annoyance with that is on every level one of the challenges is to complete it newtonian. I wasnt sure if we should just exclude that challenge from 100% to allow people to use different movements. But it is also conceivable to do all the levels in one movement type and then complete them after with newtonian. You could then have like a 90% (or whatever the percentage would be) category which excludes them and then the true 100%

This has been resolved on version 01.004.005. As such the leaderboards will use in-game time primarily.

Hello all,

Before I begin I am not going to invalidating or retiming any runs as the changes are minor and wouldn't affect the leaderboard in any meaningful way.

It seems there has been a bit of confusion on when to start and stop timing. I have discussed this with some other speedrunners who have years of experience running and moderating games and I am posting here to see the communities perspective.

I am going to change the timing to begin when the game fades in after selecting the movement type and after the initial cutscene as this is when the in game timer begins and when you gain control of the cosmonaut. The end time will also change to be when the Heavenly Bodies logo appears before the credits as it is still possible to unclip yourself after.

A minor rule change as well is going to be that the in-game speedrun timer must be enabled as this will provide better validation.

Once the in game timer has been fixed to include the end and show the final time, the leaderboards will be moved over to in game time.

I haven't found a way to extract the time from the game and it also does not account for the very end of the game. I have requested for this to be fixed.
