The timer does not have to be visible on screen.

its really not vague. its when you select the file on the file select menu. thats what file select means.

it also really isn't that hard to pull up a run and see where they start the timer.

Currently we are planning to just use the current multimario discord because of the overlap in games and types of runs that will be on this leaderboard :)

You can download and play Wii U Virtual Console games directly from USB, which does affect load times. Doing that is allowed because it's an official way to play.

Yes I believe there are 170 required stars for 3D World

These have been considered before by different people. We just haven't added them to the leaderboards because 1, nobody has done those to my knowledge, and 2, it would clog up the leaderboards more than they already are. However, if people were to do runs of those, I'm sure we would add them.

As far as the swimming goes, no. As far as the game goes in general, yes. Luigi runs faster and jumps higher, but he is slightly harder to control because he's more slippery.

Well, when you're underwater, you have no spin cool down in Mario Galaxy 1 only. So to spin constantly underwater, just spin. However, you might be thinking of surface swimming, where you swim right on the surface of the water and gain lots of extra speed. This is basically just what happens when you spin right at the surface of the water. A good video to watch to get to learn more is this:

Aww maaan why you gotta make more work for us :( Kidding, of course. I appreciate that you admitted it. However, before we take them down, can you actually prove that you are the same person as "TheOdysseyGuyBoi99"?

In addition to stuff on the guides page, you should also join the discord. Lots of people can help if you have any trouble :)

If you play with a Wii disc, submit as Wii as load times are not different. If you play on virtual console, submit as VC. Adding a different category to submit is entirely pointless because playing on Wii U with a Wii disc is the exact same as playing on Wii with a Wii disc.

Sorry for the late reply! Priiloader hasn't been timed, so we're not sure if it's allowed or not. However, Gecko OS is allowed and is really simple to set up, so I'd recommend that :)

To put a full starbit bank onto you Wii/Wii U: First, download the save file in the resources section and extract it. Make sure you take out the .bin file. Then, go to the root of your SD card. Once there, you'll see a folder called "private". If you don't see that folder, than make a new one and name it private. Inside of that folder, make sure there's a folder called "wii". Once again, if there is none, then make one. Then, inside of THAT, there will be a folder called "title", and if there is none-- you guessed it-- make one. Inside of that, you want to make a folder named one of 3 things: If you're using the NTSC-U version (North American version), make the folder named "SB4E" If you're using the NTSC-J version (Japanese version), make the folder named "SB4J" If you're using the PAL version (European version), make the folder named "SB4P"

Finally, move the save file (.bin) into that folder, and make sure the save file is named "data".

Then, put the SD card in your Wii, go to the Wii menu, press the "Wii" button in the bottom left corner, press Save Data, go to the SD Card tab, and you'll see the SMG2 save. Just press that and click copy, and it'll be copied to your Wii save data and when you boot up the game, you'll have the full bank file. Note that if you already have SMG2 save data on your Wii, you have to delete it before copying the save from your SD card. After each run, just go into your save data, delete your Wii's SMG2 data, and copy over the save file from the SD card section.

The emulation is inaccurate and would give times that you wouldn't get on console. That being said, if emulator is your only way to play, then feel free to do runs! They won't be accepted to the leaderboard, but it's better than not running the game at all :)

Just collect as many starbits as you can. There's no route because you need basically all of them that you pass. Even then, you don't get enough. In Slingpod, we usually grind starbits to 999. Then, in Melty Molten 3, we grind however many more we need.
