Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) is the current new sub-category. It would be a bit weird to merge it with emu since emu can play on NTSC 1.0 but NSO cant.
yeah theyre allowed. The only current restriction on emu is on project 64. emu rules are likely gonna change a tiny bit in the coming months but to make it more accessible and easier to understand so you dont need to worry.
The SRC forum doesnt typically work well when people have questions. For a more accurate and fast response please join the Banjo Speedrun discord instead and ask there. Here is a link to join: https://discord.gg/5AjXe4Y You can also visit the website for some more information at banjospeedruns.com
So in 100% the definition is to collect everything in the totals screen and defeat Hag 1 as its the final boss. We dont actually fight Hag 1 from the replay menu although it may look like that. We use a trick called DCW to warp to Hag 1 so we can beat it. Selecting Hag 1 on the replay menu is only done so the Hag 1 cutscene plays, but then we quit out right after. After we quit out we go into our run file and warp to Hag 1 from there to beat the boss. This means that the boss is defeated on our run file as opposed to only being defeated on the replay menu. This trick is called DCW and you can read about it more in this pastebin: https://pastebin.com/Cw5YQWzi
The placement of Hag 1 is in the middle of the run just for convenience. It can be done anywhere during the run but we just place it where we do because it makes most sense from a routing perspective, it also allows us to refil on eggs during the fight so we can use them for the rest of the run. The run just doesnt end there because there are still more things to collect as per the 100% definition. So after Hag 1 is beaten all thats left is to complete the totals screen to satisfy the requirements and then the run is considered finished.
Hope this brings some clarification =]
Hello. I am a series mod for the Banjo series game and a moderator for the Multiple Rareware Games leaderboard. Recently we have decided to merge the BKBT leaderboard ( https://www.speedrun.com/bkbt ) into the MRG leaderboard ( https://www.speedrun.com/multiple_rareware_games). I would like to request for the BKBT leaderboards to be deleted and for the Multiple Rareware Games leaderboard to be added as a multi game to the Banjo series. Thank you
Main SRC categories likely wont change. Runs from the category extensions show up on your profile, its only misc categories that wont show up UNLESS you select the "show misc categories" option on your profile.
We have a category extension leaderboard with a lot of misc categories. Theres a link on the sidebar on the main SRC page. https://www.speedrun.com/bkce
Any% is just a lot more difficult. There's not really a beginner friendly route for it so most people default to 100%
There are a few obscure ways to practice on Xbox. Not as well as N64 though. This question has been asked before in the BK discord. If you ask your question there I could link you to a previous discussion or more xbox runners could help out =]
Haha yeah thats any% Sandcastle Cheats (sandcastle%). Its basically any% but you're allowed to enter cheat codes in the sandcastle in TTC. Some people consider it "true any%" so yeah technically sub 1 hour has technically been done in that. However Any% without sandcsatle cheats on N64 hasnt gotten it yet.
On N64 its reasonable too. My SOB currently is a 57:59, sub 1 should be feasible =]
