In this video I was able to have the livesplit timer active for only 1 frame. It's likely the runner just fat fingered his reset run key. Please keep in mind my camera is only 30fps and has delay, but this is not valid evidence of cheating.
After messing around with the custom themes settings, I really like the new update actually (I don't like custom background but they should be added back in tbh). Here's how good I was able to make it look:
If you are playing on bizhawk, make sure you use the bsnes core. To change the core, go to Config -> Cores and select bsnes. If you still aren't having good results, snes9x 1.5.6 apparently has a "low latency" option now.
Lets say you take a picture of your game rather than sending the screenshot on twitter. I think that would be pretty hard to photoshop compared to the twitter image
I personally believe that videos should still be required for WR, but I think demo makes some great points on why it may not be necessary
In case you are having trouble timing Wind Bombs, here is a video with controller cam:
Quick question, do you use the control stick or dpad? Just curious if one is easier than the other.
I use joycons because I have smaller hands so they are comfortable to me. Joycons generally have better motion because you're only shaking with 1 hand rather than 2. Pro-controller however has larger buttons and sticks which some people prefer much more. I would recommend trying the two options but do not use joycon grip or handheld mode.
I'm trying with an hd camera right now! Can't connect it with OBS sadly :(
I recorded my first speed run at 240p 30FPS. It looked perfectly fine!
So this is a strategy that I found for newer players (like me). After the checkpoint I really have trouble getting past the koopa on the yellow blocks.
So what I like to do is get the checkpoint, damage boost off of the green paratroopa. Then I can get through the red koopa thanks to the invincibility frames without worrying about hitting it. And the best part is that it only loses 1 second! Oh, and if you die. ¤CHECKPOINT!!¤
The reason why I made this strategy is because at SGDQ 2016 the really awesome commentator (sorry I do not know his name) said that this was a harder level for newer players since there wasn't a way to make it safer besides walking. So I made this strategy to help newer players with this level!
Here is the video showing off the stratagy:
