Emulators?

I have a ps2 and copy of black but i do not have a capture device for a/v. Of course i could use a camera to record like how myabsolution did. I'm not sure what available emulators function well with this game and how they may affect gameplay. Just curious if emulators have been considered, and what kinds of rules would need to be followed to make fair competition.

At the current moment I'd say we're perfectly fine with a PS2 emulator run. I have no idea which emulators would be the most accurate, but as long as it's not super obviously giving you an advantage, you should be fine. If you have a PS4, you can pick the game up for pretty cheap on there and use the built in twitch stream feature to capture your run. If you do want to run on emulator, I'd suggest checking out other PS2 speedruns to see if you can find what they are using.

We are outta runners, more runs are always welcome, =) I see no problem with emulators

Although PS2 Emulators are always difficult to handle smoothly on many games. due to the alien architecture of playstation 2. But if you have a good PC and can do it, bring it on.

Alternatively (and best) Running the game with PS3 or PS4 seems the perfect idea as suggested

Nowadays pcsx2 is pretty good, TMB runs pretty good on my laptop (i5 gen11- intergratedgraphics) so it's good to start out if you're new, just set most things to ps2 for better framerate and don't enable extra features like dev console or other settings that could boost loading speeds heavily
