Based on comments from @O_Circles I made a leaderboard for console ports of Hexen: https://www.speedrun.com/hexen_console
Mods here can now remove the consoles from the list of platforms for this game to make clear that this is home for DOS/PC Hexen.
Hello, I have a question for moderators:
Have you considered investigating the possibility of allowing the New Vegas Tick Fix as a legal mod for speedruns? It's a state of the art, open-sourced, performance mod (recommended and included in the famous Viva New Vegas mod suite) that also decouples the game's physics from the game's renderer.
I have hope that this mod would simplify the setup of New Vegas for new runners, remove the need for using 3rd-party software to limit the game's framerate (while keeping input lag low), and improve the play experience for runners who own high refresh rate monitors.
Best regards and thank you for any answers
Yes, passwords carry the meaning of your entire inventory because they need to be able to restore it throughout the entire campaign. That said, using any decoder (personally recommend the one in the Compendium) will give you the difficulty (and the full inventory for that matter) without any ambiguity.
I just wonder, has anyone ever done a run (Any% Unrestricted, Glitchless, or All Planets) with the Restored Content Mod? Is that something that would be fun or interesting in some way? It would probably be a bit longer since the mod restores some cutscenes/scripted sequences. For the longer categories, it might force you to pay a bit more attention to your companions because of the added mandatory non-Exile sections in Nar Shaddaa. Could spice up the route a bit perhaps. If you guys ever got yourself a Category Extension board, I feel like a TSLRCM category would be right at home there (maybe even one for M4-78 for the truly masochistic ones :D )
I'd much rather troubleshoot it not activating as it's supposed to than enable a workaround that prevents automatic updates.
Can you show me a screenshot of your Edit Splits page?
There's pre-made splits in the Resources page that engage the autosplitter properly. As long as you remember to click Activate in the Edit Splits page, it will work fine.
Duckstation is one of the most popular and widely accepted (among speedrun communities) PS1 emulators. It might be worth evaluating for this game. You might know the game better than I do but I don't see a reason why Duckstation with all enhancements disabled wouldn't be okay.
Clueless ruling. Playing a verified good ROM dump from an EverDrive is exactly the same as an original cartridge.
brother, why are you counting server initializtaion ticks, those are complete garbage
Legacy and Unrestricted only refers to which glitches and skips can be performed in the speedrun. You can read which glitches these are in the category rules.
You can use the Steam version with any category but some glitches have been long patched in the most recent version. That's why the vast majority of speedruns are performed on older versions of the game, specifically either build 3420 for Out of Bounds category or build 5135 for everything else. You can download 5135 by following the link to "Source Unpack 2.4" in the Resources tab on these leaderboards.
You're going to have to be a little more specific to convince me because I can still do the same level times on current patch as any other patch so I really don't see a reason for patch categories. Especially given the game is still in Early Access.
Oh, I get it, you must be using a translator. The build of the game for speedrunning is downloadable on Steam. Right click the game, go into Betas and select the zero-point-nine
branch.
Have you won a lottery? Every single wallclip so clean and pristine...
Since Elden Ring is part of the Souls series on speedrun.com (https://www.speedrun.com/souls), why isn't Sekiro a part as well?
