Hi I am a moderator of paper io 2 leaderboard and recently all the leaderboard scores have vanished and some of the run sections have vanished too, the whole leaderboard just seems to have corupted or been lost.
Due to a conversation between mods we have agreed upon a new way of timing the game.
The change is in regards to when the timing starts, the timing will now start after you press the play button when the menu screen dissapears and the game screen appears.
ALL times have been re-timed and resubmitted with the following comment "Mod edit: retimed with new Start Time" if you have a run that does not have this comment on it that was submitted earlier than today then please comment and let me know.
Can agree with this now I know how to use the youtube debug timing method :)
long winded way, would have thought twitch would have something in place due to it's size and popularities with speed runners.
@DankusSR I was wondering if you know of a way of doing this youtube timing with twitch videos to get an accurate time?
Yeh I agree with you now I know how to get the time via YouTube.
I think when we have two runs at the same time in seconds we will then have to split onto miliseconds
In addition to the way of timing, I noticed you [@DankusSR] mentioned that the 10% category does not time in miliseconds, I feel it should due to how close the times could become and having everyon on the same second defeats the purpose of the fastest.
Thoughts?
After then insane 1 kill wr showed the video of timing a speed run, I feel this should be adopted by all verifiers.
I have created this simple JSFiddle page to make the process a little easier.
https://jsfiddle.net/chriswft/enrodsm4/51/
When you right click and copy the debug details simply paste the lower number into the least text area box and the higher number in the most text area box and it should output the difference for you.
I really feel an on screen timer is necessary, especially now the times are so close we need the milliseconds to split the players
We need to agree upon a couple of things
1 - when should the timer start for record A - when you press the button? B - when the screen goes blank? C - when the player starts moving?
2 - should there be a timer on screen for all records?
3 - there are enough moderators now so we shouldn't have any self moderation.
Thoughts?
sounds good to me too, appreciate the verifier status :)
Just a thought, now that there are 3 of us, should we agree to no self verifying?
...will work on the GDQ
I have also requested MOD as I have most of the records and they took close to 3 weeks to be approved, was only approved after I messaged him on youtube
Paper.io 2 is on up as a game on the site if anyone here wants to run both like me :)
Hi, just wanted to say hi and glad you got this game on here, I had put in a request for this game too but you just beat me to the punch :)
Good luck on all your runs
