Can be cleaned up a bunch by making them filters instead of subcategories - either for FPS, top grabs, or both. I think the cleanest would be categories split between FPS, and make top grabs a filter so that they stay on the same leaderboard.
Also, what's the reasoning for separating out unrestricted FPS? Is it just so people have somewhere to submit runs without an FPS display? In any case, I feel like getting FPS down to 2 categories and/or top grabs to a filter instead of a switch option would clean up the leaderboard a ton.
I've gone ahead and added Win and Lose subcategories to Quickplay%, and have also added Injury% and TD% as misc. categories :)
I'm always open to new categories! Lose% being the same as Quickplay, but without the requirement to win?
I suppose it's to the discretion of moderation, but I would count that as a glitch. It's a bit hard to define in a really broken game like this, but I'd say it goes against the intended course path and skips too much of the track.
I'm not one for Amiibo in runs, especially without category separation, but your argument is a bit flawed here. The only thing amiibo spoofers allow is ease of access and a lower entry barrier - naturally considered a good thing. Seeing as they have the same usage in the game, and offer no physical difference, there is no "unfair advantage". The run is still legitimate, and it changes nothing in the run or the game itself.
EDIT : Woahoho, missed the sub category separation for amiibo, my apologies for the mistake.
Both are allowed, it's a matter of preference. I'm not a big fan of some stages, and rather than just play on a few tournament legal stages, i found it more helpful to have a normalized stage setting. Since all Omega stages are tournament legal, I just decided to go with those. Any combination is permitted by the current rules, permitted that whatever stages that are enabled are all tournament legal.
I believe this was known previously (though I can't say for certain). Actually got stumped for a bit on the puzzle there and used that in my casual playthrough before figuring it out. Congrats for discovering it on your own though.
So you really didn't have a consistent setup? Your run looked so clean, I was sure you had something figured out :P
Does anyone (including Rapid_) know how he got the High Bounce on the red button on all three laps? That's a huge time save.
True, controller sucks. Sub Category? If an emulator were to exist somehow.
I may be mistaken, I've watched a few videos on the topic now... My apologies!
Sadly, warping to Calamity Ganon fight from the plateau has been tried with hacks, and still voids out. I believe it was in a video from "Gymnast86" - a popular Wind Waker streamer - which also included many other details about the void out.
Basically the only chance we have at plateau skip is tricking the game into giving us the paraglider early
Seconded, I disagree with modding during speedrunning in any way, save for a very small number of exceptions. The way they influence even the loadtimes of the game can never be determined, and therefore can never be truly fair. Anything that modifies the game has a chance at creating an uneven playing field, and should be avoided.
Could somebody update the rules for CPU ironman? the rules say twice "Chronological", meaning in time order, which would be some confusing arrangement in which game and watch is first, through Corrin, similar to how all star mode is ran.
TL;DR - Change "Chronological Order" to just "Order" in the rules for CPU Ironman
Perfect, looks great! Thanks :D
Thanks STAR fox, thats great! Can't wait to throw down a run.
"Time starts when stage is selected for first character (mario) " Could this be altered? I feel many would use the "random stages" mode for stage selection, which would cause confusion on starting time.
I love this idea. I have a for glory iron man submitted and lag was a HUGE problem. This would be a lot of fun, and a lot easier
