Added you as a mod to add them yourself as I haven't got time to do so currently.
So thoughts on the new site look: Whilst it loads better in some places, most of what I know has been thrown out the window and there's a lot of things either not working or have gone missing. Like in a game series as moderator, how do you add a new game to the series yourself? There's no option for that anymore or am I just being dumb, I'm gonna echo most of what people have already said: New site update is terrible, please either test it properly with others before rolling it out or just don't try and fix something that isn't broken to begin with.
Honestly I've no idea how this happened either, reckon I could have been another minute faster if that didn't happen :O
So in the Arcade section of this game there's a story mode with 3 branching paths to finishing it and I was thinking we could have 4 different categories (1 for each path and Story Mode 100%)
Could this be added for the game?
I've already done a run of the easiest route for the Story Mode, this might help give an idea into what it might look like:
Not exactly true about NTSC being always faster, there are a few games out there where PAL is faster than NTSC such as Colin McRae Rally 2.0 as a great example.
In terms of seperating the game between console and emulator whilst we can do that it seems a bit pointless given there are not that many people running this game yet.
If the game gets more popular then I think it'd be worth splitting the two but for now I'd say anything goes.
So I'm guessing I already know what the answer will be but if you were to use cheats to beat the games (I don't mean a game code to skip levels) then could you still do a run and it be counted in some regard?
I'm guessing not but considering how hard Die Hard 2 & 3 are compared to the original I'm guessing this is a straight no but feel free to tell me something different.
Good question, I would be open to suggestions but for me it would probably be when you complete the Sebring Endurance event.
Any suggestions would be welcome though :)
So I think this probably goes without saying but after doing a few runs recently with the DNF skip on the Challenge mode it's fair to say this brings the category time down a lot, however considering it's limited to the PS1 version only what should we do?
- Allow the skip and let it sit with the other times.
- Seperate the Challenge Mode Speedrun up into PC/PS1
- Don't allow the DNF skip to be used at all.
Unfortunately that game is completely different to this one, the physics and whole style of the game is different.
The category has now been made and can be run if you wish.
So recently after doing some testing with DuckStation and finding settings which are as accurate as I can get them to XEBRA here are the settings which should be set for a emulator run using DuckStation:
Console Settings:
- CPU Clock Speed Control Disabled.
- Read Speedup: None (Double Speed)
- Use Read Thread (Asynchronous) Unchecked
Emulation Settings:
- Runahead: Disabled
- Emulation Speed: 100% [60 FPS (NTSC) / 50FPS (PAL)]
Display Settings:
- Show OSD Messages Checked (if a savestate is used, we'll know)
- VSync Unchecked
Enhancement Settings:
- Force NTSC Timings (60hz-on-PAL) Unchecked (PAL speed should be PAL speed and not adjusted by the emulator)
You can check the current date of your version via the General Settings in the Automatic Updater section (2021-01-11), and then post that in your description.
Are you using SilentPatch for the game? (We have it in the resources section for the game if you need it)
What operating system are you playing the game on?
The following emulators are allowed for runs of this game:
- DuckStation (See the forum post for settings)
- XEBRA
- Mednafen
Any other emulators outside of these will not be allowed.

Not to bring up a old topic but it'd be worth removing the Any% category inside the Any% category and just have PS2/Xbox as sub variables that way it clears up the leaderboard a bit better.
So I've got a route created for this game, I used this route when I did my Any% run recently. The route is as follows:
- Choose Cobalt SS
- Taz - Races 2 & 3 Only
- Ender - All Races
- Nick F - All Races
- Big Lou - All Races
Buy Subaru Impreza WRX STI (3000 pts)
- Zoe - All Races
- Sol - All Races apart from 2
- Izzy - All Races apart from 2 then buy Transmission and Chassis upgrades
- BBB - All Races apart from 6 (Go back to Sol and do Exchange District Circuit)
Buy Lamboghini Gallardo (7000 pts) and Transmission 1 upgrade
- Earl - All Races apart from 1 (Go back to Izzy and do South Central Time Trial)
- Sassy - All Races apart from 2 and 5 (Go back to BBB and Earl and do Lap Knockout races)
- Webster - All Races apart from 2 (Go back to Sassy and do Downtown Expressway Lap Knockout race)
Buy Chassis and Brake upgrades
- Orca - All Races
Buy Lotus Elise and all possible upgrades
- Terry - All Races apart from 1 (Go back to Webster and do South Central Lap Knockout race) the buy Turbo 2 upgrade for Elise
- Murff - All Races then buy Engine 2 upgrade for Elise
- Razor - All Races
