Updates to Manifest-ID's will happen when game gets new major Updates and older Versions are needed. _
For the Actual Version, check the Integrity of the Game Files. The game should update itself back to the newest version. If that doesn't work, move the old version somewhere and put back in your newest version and try again.
I don't think you understand what I mean. If there would be people that approach me with ideas I listen.
But who said that Glitchless is slower than glitched routes? We have several categories that show that you don't even need to use a glitch to beat that category the fastest way.
Stardew Valley is very unique with the glitches, because you lose mostly time when you use these glitches. (EXCEPT: Pumpkin Dupe and sometimes Infinite Energy) But the main thing is, that you have to develop a route first and try to run it. Noone approached me with a route or even a Run of a certain way, but demanding that i should add them, because "maybe" People are interested in them.
Just show me, that you are interested. Go in the Discord and strike up a conversation about routes or do a run and then post it to us and show us that you are interested in a certain Playstyle.
You have to remember, we just can't add categories the whole time and let them clear, because noone wants to run them. This Game has a lot of categories already, but it doesn't mean that it has a lot of variety.
So to wrap it up. Show us that you are interested, we gladly help to figure out ways and stuff.
There are enough runs, that actually don't use this glitch. I'm not 100% sure which ones, but like you said, it makes not many difference to many runs and to add 10 new categories, 95% won't run. I'm not sure, if that is what this game needs ;)
The main Problem with this is, then you would optimize the game on Ingame days. You would probably beat many categories on 2 Days because of known glitches and it would defeat many leaderboards.
Incase you are wondering. Out of Bounds -> Unlimited Energy Regeneration -> Sleep Skip (Repeat till you done in mines)
It really depends on tracking the fish. You can go and Route out all Fish, but it is crazy.
The only Fishing category we have is the Fishing Bundle.
If you have ideas for Fishing Runs, I like to hear them.
No, we're not searching for mods right now. Thank you for the Interest!
The active runners right now in this game mostly run on 1.0. For these people we have an Autosplitter in the Resource category. For everyone who is doing Hardcore-mode. They run on 1.1 and have own splits/no splits. I can't confirm that autosplitter works on 1.1.
Yes, it will be posted around the end of this week. There were some complications with certain Patch dates, so I pushed it a bit back.
Sorry for the inconvenience
!!! Since a recent Patch Steam disabled This Method. There is no KNOWN way except getting the files somewhere on the internet, to downpatch the game !!!
How to Downgrade to an older Patch (Steam only) [Windows] !!! This will not work for Mac or Linux !!!

You need to open the Console in your Steam Client. (steam://nav/console) <- Put this in your browser and hit enter, without brackets.
-
You type in the following command and fill in the variables(Without Quotation-marks): "download_depot <appid> <depotid> <target manifestid>" -> For Version 1.0x "download_depot 413150 413151 3352391531516945586"

Wait for Steam to download the depot. You won't see any indication of progress, but you can tell it's downloading by looking at the network usage on your downloads page. The download can pause/resume if your connection goes out, but won't if you restart the client.
-
After the download is done, Steam will show you where the files were downloaded to.
-
Go to the game's installation directory, and move the files somewhere else. Then go to where the depot files were downloaded to, and move everything over to the game folder.
-
You should now be able to launch the old version through Steam.

Mac and Linux downgrades will follow shortly, we want to check the Versions first.
For the Actual Version, check the Integrity of the Game Files. The game should update itself back to the newest version. If that doesn't work, move the old version somewhere and put back in your newest version and try again.
The Leaderboard will get Versionnumbers.
We found a way to revert back patches over Steam.
It's a bit of work, but I will post a Tutorial on how to do it.
Thank you all.
After some discussions, we settled with allowing downgrades with the method Salem posted.

Hello everyone,
I'm the Moderator of Stardew Valley and this issue is main talk in the community for weeks now. The new Patch that will come out on PC (and is already out on Console) will remove one very often used glitch.
Many runners are now in fear of their times.
We thought about changing the Leaderboard, so we can have Versions as category or sub-category in that manner. But that would divide and clutter the Leaderboard more and more.
The next idea was, that we would wipe the Leaderboard and all times. This wouldn't clutter the Leaderboard much. (Only 2 categories don't use this glitch)
The Dev (only one Dev), doesn't answer our calls so we probably can't expect the ability to change to older versions without digging in the code itself and programming it.
I write here today to get better ideas how to handle the incoming problem and the Speedrunning communities opinion on the actual ideas. Maybe we as a community find a better solution.
Sidenote: That glitch saves minutes up to hours depending on the category ran.
Thank you for taking your time.
I will have a look into the patch notes.
But if we wipe them, then a complete wipe would be better.
Sorry for the stupid timing <3
I don't know if this "feature" is available already. (If, yes I didn't find it after searching for weeks)
It would be nice, to exclude certain categories from global sub-categories. Else a game with 4 Main Categories and 4 Sub-Categories which apply to only 3 of them is a mess to keep an overview in the "Edit Game" Tab.
Or a better way to associate the Sub-Categories to the Categories. Thank you for the time reading this.
We know that several glitches got patched out. We looking into many of them and looking into the possibility for maybe the option to revert to old versions.
Yes the only board that will still stand after this patch is Crafts Room. That even did beat the old 1.0 time, without Pumpkin Dupe.
For good discussion about routes you might want to join Discord?
