IDK where else to put this but id like to make a couple notes for myself or anyone else who may think about running this:

keep in mind that I dont have the record YET (my best unofficial time is 21 seconds short of the current record). and im just telling other people what ive seen since there seems to be a lack of community around this cult classic

  1. the run Rules do not specify what types of controllers are valid. im using a gamecube controller and my own general rule is if its on the box (wii games have little silhouettes of what controllers are compatible) it counts

  2. Player batter box step in animations are only skippable the first time they happen (the first time you cycle thru the lineup so innings 1-3) i believe this is due to the camera showing the animation from the front when introducing the players for the first time as opposed to the normal catchers perspective there after. Some players animations are longer than others so a team with mainly short animations is ideal though that would take an incredibly long time to figure out.

  3. its VERY hard to throw a perfect game in MLB PP but the closer you get the better. more hits and more balls thrown = more pitches which = more time obviously. a dangerous strategy is to throw hit table balls as to force more ground outs which are quicker than strike outs. and if you really want to save every second throw only fast balls as theyre milliseconds faster than breaking balls

  4. the typical strategy is to be the home team. and hold the lead as to not have to bat the bottom of the ninth. score 1 run as soon as possible and bunt your way to the rest of the outs. the CPU will like to pinch hit late in the game. just skip the cutscene and keep it moving.

  5. there are plenty of bad teams you can play against but if you really want to make it as absolutely easy as possible you can go through some of the worst teams from 2006 and see which team has the worst batting attributes.

  6. theres alot of "RNG." idk if you could call it RNG but im calling it that since it seems random to the naked eye. whether a batter fouls off and increases your run by a another pitch seems random. and theres always the random chance (which i find to be run bustesr) that the other team just makes an error and lets your bunter get on base or that either pitcher gets the "wild pitch" animation.

thats it for now. more people need to appreciate this classic and hopefully theyll bring it back to the states

I just created my account. looking to take the Record for some of my favorite childhood games.

right now im gunning for MLB Power Pros Exhibition WR. after that i might try to go for the MLB PP 2008 DS run (a category which does not exist yet) I also did a couple Wii Sports Resort Golf runs just to get something under my belt (theres no bowling category?)

i dont have a capture card or a pc for that matter so my calling card will be poor quality camera recordings of my screen and a stopwatch (handhelds are gonna be a pain) so if see a video that looks like its from 2003 but dated 2 days ago it might just be me.
