I guess it would make sense to add old times, but I'm not sure if that's even possible without having accounts. Maybe creating a "Legacy" page/tab somewhere would make more sense. You'll have to see what kind of options you have as admin.
The game's not really crowded with runners anyway, so we can pretty much do whatever we want :p
Nice to see you here Rob ;) I'm fine with adding a #crash category, might be a nice alternative as runs can be very frustrating with AI collisions. For time calculation we could show both (RTA and in-game) for each run. Not sure how I feel about changing the game speed, I guess as long as it's not too much it should be fine. It will be difficult to come to a consensus concerncing the game version, as POD is already quite tricky to run anyway.
And for old replay files, maybe we could have a post in Guides/Resources where people could download them?

I'm using a PS4 controller. A controller is a must in my opinion, or anything that has analog input (wheel/joystick). In POD options you need to select the wheel to have analog steering, even if you're using a controller. How are you recording your videos? Also do you get an error message on youtube? Sometimes the processing can take a few hours if you're uploading a 1h+ video. Mine got stuck on 99% for about an hour yesterday.
I've never actually played the reverse tracks (or most of the extra tracks), but setting them up would be nice. Mostly focusing on full-game runs at the moment but will go back to IL/3L eventually. Not sure what else we could add or change, I'll think about it. Otherwise all good, thanks for quickly verifying the runs!
Btw, dont leave POD and Livesplit open if you're AFK in the main menu. The autosplitter starts and splits even on the demo videos. It messed up all my splits :(

This game can be a real pain to get running smoothly. Took me a few hours to find something that works. Instead of alt+tab, you can use alt+enter to go into windowed mode so you can lower the volume.

Hey again! I'm using OBS. Display Capture for POD (Game Capture doesn't work) and Window Capture for Livesplit. If you need help with OBS you can always add me on Discord. For hotkeys, try activating "global hotkeys" in Livesplit if you haven't already, I also had some issues with that.
Maybe someone else has another solution, but we're not the most active community around here :p
Hey, welcome! I think there's an option in Livesplit to be "always on top", somewhere in the layout settings. That might work. Or you can use a program like OBS and set it up so it records the game and the livesplits.

It's a quite a tricky situation I agree. The argument for allowing all cars would be that runners want to achieve the best possible times, and knowing that there are better cars that you can't use is a bit frustrating. Even with only the basic cars everyone will find out which one is the best anyway.
I would be totally fine with just having the 16 POD Gold cars for full-game runs. Everyone should have access to them anyway, and there's no extra installation needed. My issue was mostly with having only 8 cars, not with disallowing the extras.
There's no rush to decide anything, we can take our time.

Short version: allow all 16 POD Gold cars OR allow every official car.
Long version: Let's assume everyone uses POD Gold anyway, because it's the only version available today. But in that case all 16 cars should be playable. Excluding the extra ones makes sense!
If all old versions of the game are considered, then every single official car should be allowed. It's like disallowing DLCs because not everyone can buy it. Aren't speedruns mostly played on the fastest version of a game, or the most glitched?
Why would we disallow content that is in the game? Maybe just have 2 categories as I suggested a few days ago: "POD Gold (16 cars)" / "All cars"

I absolutely understand not allowing the extra cars. But POD Gold has 16 original cars, and I assume almost everyone would be using that version of the game.

Yes, I figured out by accident how to use analog controls. Basically you need any gamepad (I'm using a PS4 controller but XBox works as well) and select the "Wheel" option in POD to configure it. Somehow the game will think your controller is a wheel and you get analog controls. It takes some time to get used to it but I think it's really worth it!
Question is, are we playing "POD Gold (GOG)" which has 16 official cars, or "POD: Planet of Death" which has 30+ cars? You could argue that most of the extra cars aren't officially in POD Gold, and are more like mods (even if they were released by the developer). But if someone still has all the old CDs and extra content, is he playing the same game as someone buying it on GOG? Having 2 categories: "16 cars (POD Gold)" / "All cars" kind of makes sense, but I'm not really sure.
@RocketToMars, are you playing with automatic or manual transmission? Automatic makes you lose some time at the start of Bank because it goes back into 5th gear. Unfortunately you can't download the ghosts. Most of these times are completely insane! I don't think we'll beat them anytime soon :D I'll submit a few more ILs over the next weeks, slowly learning all the tracks again. Cya!
Hey! I was thinking about uploading some IL times. The rules state that "extra vehicles" are allowed, does this include the ones you need to patch in (BTH expansion stuff) or only the 8+8 in the GOG version? Asking this because I'm pretty sure there are some cars that are definitely faster or have different handling. Even the base 16 have some minor differences, mostly acceleration, top speed and turn radius. Cya on Io :)
