Rather not as runs wouldn't be comparable any longer.
LRT has finally been added. Sorry it took so long. By the way: people have lifes - including me. Thank you for your understanding.
This page doesn‘t mention that NSML is on the SNES Classic. But you can run it on this console.
I also had the feeling to hit an invisible wall. I would split the leaderboard for the main game to a Non-OOB Any% and an OOB Any% category if there would be at least another Non-OBB Any% run (besides my own one).
I have tried those tricks a few times but wasn't able to execute them. It really seems to me that they were patched out. So if anyone could confirm this, I would add a glitchless category for the main game.
You don't need to use an external timer. The timing method is mentioned in the category rules.
Considering speedrunning, which means beating a game as fast as possible, and that Elite Soccer (GB) released based on the 1994 FIFA World Cup, "World Cup" will remain the only main category for this game. Sometimes speedruns take longer - just have a look at all Super Mario Galaxy 2 categories for example. In addition the world record for Elite Soccer (GB) is not optimized at the moment. There is still a lot of room for improvement as the in-game-timer stops every time for a stoppage in the game unlike in a real life soccer game. Locking this thread.
GG! Great that you came back to this short and fun speedrun category.
@SuperSpeedRunner would be a fantastic mod for this game!
Just for your information, there is already an amazing world record progression video on SML dated 9 February 2021:
The entire game play of this speedrun is legit. Youtube video download retimed to a 12:35.154. Hopefully @TheTycon comes back to SRC after not having been here for over a year to submit his PB. Even the PB was set almost 5 years ago.
The SGB is allowed but the time has to be converted as the SGB runs 2.4 % faster compared to the SGB2: https://nudua.com/convert
That‘s probably the hardest jump in SML. As far as I know it’s a 1-frame-jump (please correct me if I’m wrong) and you only have aprox. a small window of 2 pixels to jump off from the edge. As Gigachad has already mentioned, it is not worth going for unless you‘re a top-level speedrunner.
