Was looking at picking up this run just because I used to play this all the time as a kid. But I didn't know what to list as the platform if I did it on the Switch.

Cool. I honestly do speedruns in more of a hobby to see how I compare than super competitive. Was thinking of getting my brother to try co-op with me for fun.

Was thinking of trying this, but only have the Switch. I know Switch is allowed for other NES games, checking to see if a decision was ever made on this.

The problem is that without a human theory TAS, there's no complete run evidence that it is actually possible. I'd be highly interested in seeing someone put together a human theory TAS that can show a lower time, using the best segments we have. But without that it just seems like wishful thinking.

Has anyone done a Human Theory TAS that is below 4:55? It seems like if that is missing, that we really don't have a solid path to 4:54 at all, if one exists. I'm all for theory, but it seems we'd really need some brand new ideas that are completely new to do it.

Hey, would the recent Contra collection on the Switch be acceptable or does it have to be on the original NES?
