Thanks to the effort of our small but great Dino1 community Members we have now a viable option to allow DoorSkip within Dino1 PC Version.

Credits goes out to Unicorngoulash wand Icescythe7 of the DinoCrisis Wiki Discord and Farmery87 for his efforts to get this going.

The Mod is compatible with the current REBirth Patch. I've made a ZIP Archive that includes all files needed for the DoorSkip & REBirth Patch. The Archive can be downloaded at the Ressource Section of the SpeedRun Website or clicking the following link: https://www.speedrun.com/resourceasset/kzgcz

Usage is very easy - just drop all 3 Files into your DinoCrsis Root directory and replace it with current vanilla files.

WARNING(!) Due to the nature of the Patch that it hooks itself into the Game, there is a chance that your AntiVirus or Windows will notify you for a Virus / Malware Threat. This is a false-positive and can be ignored. Make sure to just simply allow / whitelist the DINO.exe .

After everything is ready to go - just start the Game as usual via the DINO.exe and once loaded up you can Press F12 to activate the DoorSkip Mod.

Hi DC1 Runners.

The game is now split up between PC and Console version on all categories. Please understand that there will no extra leaderboard for different consoles. DC1 uses IGT instead of RTA , and on console the IGT is counted by frames and its the same across all console versions so it doesnt matter which console you pick, the time will always be the same, (as the IGT is timed via frames this means, on loading scenes / room transitions the timer is stopped)

additionally for fun and if someone is looking for a challenge, there is now Any% HARDMODE category - so go out there and test your dino RNG luck

Now i had a problem which made my Hardware Acceleration "dissapear" for older games / games that use DirectDraw Engine and stuff. This is in this case the ResidentEvil Series for PC and DinoCrisis 1 & DinoCrisis 2 . The reason is that the old games are made and use the DirectX 32bit Engine - which is in Win8 and 8.1 64bit Systems particially dissabled this leads into people only can use RGB Emulation on those Games. Now the Solution works for almost every "older" game and luckly for us we just need to check a little box.

You can either do a long "workaround" via the Windows-Registry or use this nice little tool that Windows does not come with by default which is a simple DirectX-Control Panel.

Now after downloading the zip and extracting the files, run the x86.exe of the two files (dxcpl_x86) . After opening go to the "DirectDraw" Panel and Check "Use Hardware Acceleration" (See Screenshot for details here : )

Now simply click "Apply" and you're ready to go. For some Games like RE3 jp version i had to activate WinXP-SP3 compatibility mode. But this is optional and might not apply to everyone.

Now just Change the Graphic Settings back to your GPU (as you might used to have) and you're ready to go and get a new WR..maybe #Kappa
