I was sadly unable to create an invite link and I can't find one created by the admins anywhere, sorry.
It is strictly allowed because fucking up your health for speedrunning is a bad idea.
I recently bought the game and I wanna run it. The current categories, however, don't really make sense to me. I know this topic has been discussed before, but since the discussion happened years ago I'm making a new thread.
I really don't understand why "100%" only disallows driving through red lights and leaving passengers behind, but other penalties are allowed. I think there should be a "No Penalties" category.
If you want to get in touch with the developers of The Longing to ask questions about the game, you can join the official Studio Seufz Discord server here:
It would be great if you could make an autosplitter!
I'd have no problem re-timing console runs, I've done it a lot in the past.
You can either time use sites like Frame Count to time out loads of online videos manually. https://somewes.com/frame-count/
Or you can use Unload to time out loads automatically but you need the video file for that. https://github.com/milankarman/Unload#readme
The best case scenario would be an autosplitter, of course, but I don't know how to make one. (And it wouldn't work for Nintendo Switch runs.)
I am super hyped for the release of this game and enjoyed the demo a lot! I assume the demo speedruns are timed RTA because they're not taken that seriously, which is fine. Since I wanna run the game once it comes out, I would like to emphasize how important it would be in my opinion, to have a loadless leaderboard. Out of curiosity, I compared the load times of the first two demo runs and there is already more than two seconds of difference. I'd be happy to be a mod for this game and re-time runs to keep the competition fair for everybody.
I watched the entire 37:12 TAS and it's so satisfying to watch! A beautiful work of art, well done! ( ^-^)
You can play the game via Flashpoint Archive:
You need to upload your video to anothe website, most people use Youtube. When you're done, paste the link in the "Video URL" field in the run submission.
Welcome to the chaos! If you just duck down in front of the fence without holding an item while running towards the fence, the neck of the Goose will push the whole body up and you can just walk over the fence. Several top runs have input display (the runs of Tasselfoot, for example), so you can check out which buttons are pressed when to get over the fence glitchless. Goose luck on your runs!
I am playing on poki.com:
First of all, to compare runs, it doesn't matter if time starts on the frame I used or one frame earlier, as long as all three runs are timed with the same starting frame.
If you watch the runs side-by-side with the link I provided, you can clearly see that my run is faster than the run by Zavlon7. It should not be lower on the leaderboard.
The issue with using the "Press Space To Restart" screen as the end frame is, that the marriage ceremony screen is not the same length on all runs:
- Hadiez: 0:04.184
- Laika: 0:04.683
- Zavlon7: 0:04.000
There is up to more than half a second difference between the length of the marriage ceremony cutscene. So time should end on the first frame of the marriage to ensure fairness.
Hi there!
I re-timed all three PBs on the Love Always Remains leaderboard and I am disputing the current timing, since my run is faster than the other two but is listed as 3rd place. I downloaded all three runs and re-timed them with Avidemux. I used the following frames to time the runs:
- Start: the first frame after the title screen disappears
- End: the first frame of the marriage ceremony cutscene
This results in the following times:
- Laika: 0:41.800
- Hadiez: 0:41.869
- Zavlon7: 0:42.300
Here you can watch all runs synced at the same time: http://viewsync.net/watch?v=kLruziIEMjw&t=1.39&v=B5qKhbKImPo&t=0.71&v=xE4qNvb7Uhk&t=0.37&mode=solo
You can clearly see that Zavlon7's run is slower than mine, yet it is listed as being faster. The timing on the leaderboard clearly isn't correct, so I ask the moderators to fix the leaderboard.
Thanks!
According to the current rules, timing ends when you see the restart prompt. This does not work anymore with version 2.0 of the game, because after the marriage ending, this prompt does not appear on the Poki version. I suggest changing the timing to end on the first frame, the screen switches to the ending "cutscene".
