The savefile in the Resources section doesn't work. It gives you a "Continue Game" option in Sequence 7, but none of the levels actually unlocked, let alone upgrades.
Interesting. That mission in particular would be a nice one to skip.
Resources is more for things like savefiles, splits, game versions, technical stuff. You're definitely talking more about "Guides" stuff.
The sword clash at :26 (on the LiveSplit; :46 on the VOD timer) doesn't happen in the fight during the campaign. That's when the vision of Jin's father happens, which isn't replicated in Duel Rush.

It would be the ULTIMATE (pun intended) Jebait if we could skip (or just about skip) cutscenes on console while still having to sit through them on PC
Updates are fine, but please for the love of Baphomet don't call the website "Speedrun"
I've heard of some people investigating the possibility, any progress? I offered a $100 bounty for it a while ago, I'll gladly double that if anyone can come up with such a mod.
Why not?
And no, not really. These games are still at the point where emulation is incredibly tricky. I can confidently say that if emulators are to be allowed it'll be a separate subcategory.
Says the PS5 version is on something called the Tempest Engine. Dunno if that's the same for PC.
Well the Peter Parker game is apparently in a proprietary engine, per Wikipedia. It doesn't list an engine for Miles, but I would imagine it's the same one.
Why? It's neither of those things.
I am offering a $100 bounty to the first person to develop a mod for Miles Morales that allows all cutscenes to be skippable. Currently, for whatever reason, about a quarter of the game's cutscenes are natively skippable while the rest are not. This is the case across all platforms, and it turns a potentially lightning-fast white-knuckle speedrun into 53 minutes of "sit and watch a movie" which completely kills the game for me.
If we can skip the cutscenes, it might become my favourite speed game of all time.
PS4 and PS5 are stuck with the cutscenes, but hopefully the new PC version won't be. If you make a mod -- that an idiot like me can easily utilize -- allowing all cutscenes to be skipped, I will PayPal you $100 (one hundred United States dollars).
If it helps, here's a slight discount on the game itself - https://www.fanatical.com/en/game/marvel-s-spider-man-miles-morales (site is legitimate)
This is a fully serious offer (and before anyone says to post it in the forum for the game, I did. Weeks ago), and it's one of my most wanted things for a speedrun game ever. I'm sure it won't just be me that uses it either, even if the leaderboard disallows it.
I am absolutely serious about the $100 bounty by the way. Make the mod, get the cash.
I've got a Steam key for the game but I'm not redeeming it until there's a mod. If there should never be one, a) I'll be extremely sad, but b ) I have another use for the key.
You can do speedruns in any way you wish. Whether emulator runs are to be included in the leaderboard is a question that has not been considered. If you wish, you may join the Discord and be a part of the conversation about it (I have just posted your message there). If not, I will update this thread when a decision is reached.
I've never been one to have an apoplectic fit because someone replies to a topic after some arbitrary phoney-baloney statute of limitations has passed (I've seen people have conniptions over "bumps" from as little as two months prior). If you can contribute to the topic, contribute. Not complicated?
But you gotta contribute ;)
Release date! https://blog.playstation.com/2022/10/13/marvels-spider-man-miles-morales-is-coming-to-pc-on-november-18/
I will pay a $100 bounty (one hundred United States dollars) to anyone who can develop such a mod, assuming (and this is likely) cutscenes aren't skippable by default.
It's gotten a Steam listing, with a nonspecific "Fall 2022" release window. That's gotta be soon! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1817190/Marvels_SpiderMan_Miles_Morales/
The moment someone comes out with a cutscene skip mod, I am double-dipping.
I will never downpatch.
It looks like I'll probably do runs with my own glitchless ruleset then. I'll still have fun!
