Yeah, the area added with Baga Yaga would be out. no worries on testing it. get to it when you can
Baba Yaga is DLC though... it is, however, included in new purchases on steam and PS4. I'd vote for skipping anything included with it. If that nets you a 99% completion, then that is something we'll need to workout and verify.
we need to look into the differences. you have a lot of "i thinks" in there, and honestly, i'm right there with you as I've only done any% and havent done any of the other stuff since the game launched. take a look at all collectibles and see what more is left to get 100%.
right now I'd say 100%, but I'm open to other options and arguments for other categories.
I'm assuming you are asking if it is okay if you submit a photo of your high score/time of a minigame rather than a video? My personal answer is "no", but I'll let a mod make the actual call.
rumor has it that someone was working on making a load remover for console that uses an on screen cue. it would have to be altered for each game of course, but that would be cool if that actually becomes a thing. an auto splitter would be such a badass thing if someone gets that to work on a console using on screen cues.
the only reason I'd still use IGT is to help compare the versions. we could also manually time loads on console since they should be consistent and I haven't noticed one from dying. I doubt there will be a better route to use because of loading.
IGT could be good to compare PC to consoles, and then RTA with a load remover for comparing PCs
Yeah, igt should remove loads, but certainly needs to be tested. Making a load-remover script for PC runs is something that should be done. An auto-splitter should be a later project
I wonder if there actually are addresses we could find to make an auto-splitter. that'd be an interesting task to figure out. as for a load-remover, from my experience looking into games, there's only 1 address needed. usually a simple flag of a 0 if not in loading, and a 1 if in loading. Gears of War 4 had a value of 257 and 0 for it's loading oddly enough. i could help find the loading address, but if it isnt in a similar form to the past games I've worked on, idk if I can write the code. I had help with those
the main issue I have with ILs is that, at least with world 1, you can't do it in one trip. idk if you can collect enough in the tower to skip it, get what you need from other worlds and then come back to it and expand it before you enter. even if you can, seems like a pain to have to set up. maybe there is a way to easily back up saves and it actually isnt that bad. the BK games dont have ILs probably for that reason
i never tested the skyroll, and the engine is the same, but the PS4 should run it at a closer to a locked 30 FPS so because of that the tricks are going to behave slightly differently
PS4 should be the same as XBO, but if you have a pro and put it in the high FPS mode you might be able to do some of the PC tricks like the back scramble
Since they are timed, I could see those being ILs
could have a link posted here on SR so others can see it and join in. could always kick those that should be kicked so it doesnt need to be a secret invite only
we dont want to be overflooded with mods. have 2-3 max for now should be fine
he's seriously thinking "i thought i was the only one" lol. 4:05 aint bad! wow. I need to hurry up and start running myself! We have a nice community forming as well, so this is pretty exciting for me
the DLC armor was over powered. Guerrilla just released a hot fix for it so it isn't as OP, but I still vote against it. for timing, i think the best thing we can really do, is RTA to the purge, but skip through everything so we can save once more to get IGT. either that or we nix IGT all together. I also forgot about difficulty selection... but last menu action before starting a new game is what I meant
I saw a vid from Digital Foundry that said load times are actually quite similar between PS4 and Pro, so that's nice, but if it is indeed confirmed that IGT removes loads and is an accurate timer, then perfect, I'd say use that for sure as the priority time. in my opinion, IGT should be required in submission videos as well
For timing purposes, RTA start on new game select and end on hitting triangle to purge? also, if that's the case for RTA timing, does IGT continue to count up from there during the cutscene/credits? this then leads to when can we get IGT. I think we have to get through the credits, get the notification about the game's state being reset, then get to a campfire to save and that's where we can get IGT. and of course to make it even more complicated, should we count RTA to that save as well (my thoughts are no)? I might be making it more complicated than it needs to...
I think those are the main categories for now, yes. probably the most focus will be on any% for a while
idk about all armor and such, but there is the in game progression percentage that we could get whatever is needed to make that 100%. that would be a pretty long run for sure, especially if the main game is 5 hours at the moment.
