Okay @spooditt. Guess I'll have to keep trial and error. Might just be an FPS variable.
Has anyone got a console variant of this? I've tried testing but no matter what I do, it seems like Ethan never wants to wall clip. Could this possibly just be a PC only? I know other game like halo have different glitches for console and others only working on pc. Is this the same or am I just being dumb (hopefully noone says the latter) 😂😂
@Razorable I would imagine the only lifts something like this would be useful on would be the doll house ones indeed and maybe the lift going up to and down from Moreau to collect the part of Rose... possibly the lift thing going down at the ritual site when you've placed down the Giants Chalice and the one in Dimi's castle after you get your hand back? the only things worthy of being called a "lift" in my opinion
okay so by pausing inside of a "sidescroller" section every 5 seconds, loads next zone in.... how does this speed up runs? You would still have to ride the full elevator journey. Or are you saying that once the next area is loaded, you hit the restart option to load into that area without riding the elevator?
I noticed this myself last night. I moved to fast as I have a need for speed and got eaten up by Moreau. Upon respawn I had actually spawned on the other side of the 3 button platforms despite not even making it across them. Seems the trigger for the next load zone is possibly just activating the 3 coloured switches for the platforms. If you time it right and expect it, easily a 5ish second timesave
No intro would be amazing. I believe the timer should start as Ethan drops down the hill and can finally equip weapons in NG+. The timer should however in this case begin once the player (you or I) begins the first input after the hill fall. This gives the player, if they are using a manual timer and not an offset timer, the chance to start time and move. That could easily be combined with the runner calculating the time it takes them to get into first point of movement after the hill drop, therefore making all runs fair and equal. However as there is no direct save point, many people would still be discouraged due to having to run that autoscroller everytime, more so on console NOT PC where you can easily copy an autosave state for future use, My proposal is definitely going to be different rulesets for PC and console because, as just mentioned, console, unless modded - therefore instantly invalidating a run - , cannot control autosave states.
Also to add to it, if this RE8 community is going to be as toxic as it already sounds, no-one, not even the Karens, are going to want to be part of it
