I can think for myself and I’m sure you saw my post above where I state everything what I thought about the moderation team of this game. Also your comment had nothing to do with the topic at hand. Only place to find that topic is on discord and that topic there was all over the place.

The issue at hand was that the moderation team wasn’t active on the forms and they haven’t been addressing the issues what have been mentioned many times. Now both hoxi and Caz has made comments and address those issues not to the full point of my liking but I do accept what they have said.

To dare claim that I can’t think for myself and me showing my own stand point on the issue is just ignorance on your behalf. I don’t have an issue with you but just take ownership of making a pointless comment and stop trying to shift the topic.

Not one person complaining about how long it is to verify a run. Reread the post my friend.

Time and time again we seem to run into moderation issues.

I did say that me being super mod would not be a smart choice and my life is too busy already to be a mod and knowing the game well enough to be a verifier. Where I would see myself at but that doesn’t ever solve the issue at hand cause as I said earlier my life is already too busy.

There’s a lot of new runners who have taken this game up and have shown that they can be very serious runners and I am enjoying seeing their runs on here!

However, I mention many times on different rules should be altered or changed or even remove or add on to. I would also like to see a vote on those changes that would be fair to everyone and not short come voting that we have seen in the past. Luckily we haven’t had that in a while! But sadly an issue has been brought up many times over and yet the moderators haven’t dared to comment on it on discord nor here on SR. I know they’ve seen the comments on both platforms and yet they still remain silent and that’s not true leadership... I don’t hate any of these moderators let me make that clear there is one I do have personal feeling about but it’s not even worth mentioning cause it’s not that huge of a deal!

It’s obvious that the community wants a change not only because of one runner personal feelings about something but us as runners coming up to the same conclusion that things do need to change! Let’s vote, let’s see something, tell us why it’s wrong to have this or that, tell us anything so we know we are being heard!

I don’t think we need a new reform and the “top” runners aren’t the only ones should being considered of getting moderation.

Let me say this there is nothing wrong with having an empty board! It’s not a huge hassle to delete a board that has no runs on it after a year, yet the GTA Community sees a empty board as something completely horrible and a disgrace it seems and I still haven’t ever got a message explaining why that is. Hell look at what happen to IL’s a few years back and when we where trying to fix that I made comments to change things yet once again I was ignored like a child asking to be friends to an adult.

I fear nothing will come of this and this thread will be locked or deleted and all of us will be called some variation of “cry babies” it’s sad that this seems to come around every few years and good people stop being mods due to the drama or stress of putting up with dumb people.

You want to get 2 stars before that final cutscene to get a cop bike more favorable however it’s definitely not consistent. Also the route you took was a little slower and you had to deal with script cop cars. Besides of turning around and going back up where you came from do this instead! Drive to the intersection where you killed the people, next drive straight to the next intersection turn left to cut through the sidewalk before that intersection, cutscene will play and after the cutscene look for a cop bike. Drive straight up the hill pass the burger shot turn left at the end of the road. Next turn right to go up the hill (the one right before the one you took in this video) make a quick left then right to the safe house and you should be able to buy it without cops being right on you so you don’t have to deal with them.

How to get two stars before that cutscene: after you kill the two guys beating up the ho and on the drive back to the first ho you dropped off look for a cop on the road or sidewalk run into him, if you had to do it early kill 2 or so pedestrians when you get closer to the maker, on the same road as the marker kill more pedestrians to get the 2nd wanted star, if there is non before the cutscene when the limo arrives kill the pedestrians after that cutscene ends, if you still have one star after that killing the people in the cars should give you that 2nd wanted star by that point for sure!

Dha the difference in the remastered version of SA is something’s aren’t quite the same as SA when it first released. For example in driving school burn a lap only has 3 laps and not 5 laps, 8 track has 6 laps and not 12. So for ILs you will have to have the remastered vision of the game to beat those ILs and of course there might be other things that is in the remastered that I don’t know about that can be different from the regular SA. So Crucial is waiting the remastered to be moved. So this way there is a good separation of the two games. So for example and this is just my thought, any% would be the main tab as a sub tab we could have either “regular” and “remastered” or “no ajs” and “ajs”. I’m not sure how this would work for ILs but that is why he wanted to talk about it but a mod hasn’t been very responsive to him so he took his runs down as a protest to be heard. Some people are calling him a cry baby about it and others see his point just like any other issue we bring up.

Alright Kamiks let me ask you this. You have a few WRs and you’re a great runner! However have you ever been paid by SR.com or any other speedrun Association? Other than the money you make streaming or video revenue on YT have you ever gotten a reward from anyone? If you answered no to any of those than hate to break it to you but it’s a hobby. And this site and any other site that operates like this one is just a place where people share the same hobby with and make rules that everyone agrees to and move on from there. Yes speedrunning as a whole is a waste of time but we do it because we enjoy it, I think that is the definition of a hobby. However I think we both understand each other’s stand point here and there’s no point in keeping this up. If you want to keep up this conversation you can DM me on discord or twitch. Just understand that me and others don’t share the same opinion as you and that’s okay! Crucial, and Reset and any other runner who wishes not to be apart of a speed runner board has their right to not allow it to be posted but this isn’t my fight.

Also just know that I do agree with you that the top time should be up there! But only by that same person willing to be up there. And if you ever decided to take your runs down and didn’t want them back up there I would say the same thing for you as I am now. I support Crucial’s standpoint and removing his run out of protest, the effectiveness is up in the air. As I said this thread has gotten way off topic and I really need to stop.

This will be my last comment on this cause you’re literally running in circles. The rules state on this site that runs shouldn’t be posted by a person who does not wish to be apart of this site. Reset said he doesn’t want his WR runs on this site due to how he feels, therefore the site rules goes into affect. With the rules set by “us” we state that the run needs video proof. The video isn’t on here therefore the proof isn’t here, unless you look for it on your own on YouTube or discord or wherever else it’s at. On the posting of resets run that out of respect of the runner the video isn’t posted here. But yet we conflict with the rules due to “us” keeping an “accurate” count of the boards which is funny cause this is a damn hobby this isn’t something for the history books to teach about in school or anything alike. If a person doesn’t want to be apart of this site any longer you don’t have the right to force them to be by posting their name or time or video in whatever means you think fit. It’s not inaccurate count of this game. Those who want to take part in this is their right not anyone else’s regardless of how you feel about it and the same is true the other way around. If reset wants his run on here he knows what to do he has done it many times he is a big boy. So yes those times do need to come down and when he is ready or wanting to post them we will go from there until then they don’t belong.

not saying they haven't. the run is not posted on here because reset didn't want it here so it shouldn't be. also in the rules it says the run has to have video proof and it's not here. given the sites rules plus our own we go against those rules. i was there when reset got WR for any% (no ajs) so i know the run is real. next time read my comment.

to add on to the post above. in the rules we even say that video proof is needed yet we go against this because WR times are needed and the runner and the mod didn't see eye to eye? just always bothered me but this is far from the topic at hand with this thread. the answer was given by hoxi and patrick.

This post is mainly about All Story Missions runs, so if I am putting this in the wrong spot please let me know!

So off of line of thinking and mapping it out in my head and "trying to do a comparison" this is what I came up with!

After the mission "Lure" I grab a NRG from the "NRG Challenge" location and store it for later. After the mission "Sail Trail" I grab another NRG from the "Air Port" and use that one as normal still storing it after the mission "Pier 69". (hope i'm not losing you here chief!)

Now for the biggest change is the mission order. Assuming you're going for the mini gun on Zero's mission and not doing it on "Up Up and Away" what you'll want to do is this mission order.

"Air Raid" - "Supply Lines" - "New Model Army" - "Zeroing In" - "Test Drive" - "Customs Fast Track" - Puncture Wounds" - "Monster" - "Highjack" - "Introduction" - etc...

The first NRG that you stored you'll want to use while heading to "Monster" this will save you about 20 or so seconds from my "testing" (using testing very lightly here) your 2nd NRG you'll use as you normally do for "Introduction" and so on...

As I said within the load of text that my "testing" is to be taken a bit lightly here and this is a very rough estimate but from the cleanest run I could do and trying to make it as "fast" of a comparison as I could this is what I came up with. Please if you know of a better way to do this, please let me know!! Feel free to test this out for yourself and see if you come up with about the same time save that I did I'm very curious to what others will find.

So after posting this text I know I had to at least show my work. I tried to do the best that I could. This update which is a day later of original posting.

Below I am posting two videos the first one is me trying my best for a clean run so I can do a "comparison" of my PB splits to that of the new route.

If your time is short; I jump the video ahead to the point where it matters the most. That is at the end of "Puncture Wounds" you'll see that I was only 10 seconds ahead before the start of the mission and then I lose 34 seconds on that mission itself so I am behind 24 seconds.

By using the 1st NRG that I stored the drive to "Monster" I saved 36 seconds (Note that my PB run and my comparison run both had the same "Monster" race time of 4:01 so I didn't save any time on the race itself ).

The mission "Highjack" had a time save due to poor PB game play I save time by 18s.

The mission "Introduction" had a time save due to again poor PB game play. I save 34s on that mission.

Alright so you saw in that video I ended with 1:05 ahead of my PB splits by using the NRG twice and having better game play at the point of "Puncture Wounds".

Now to better showcase the time save due to re-routing Wang cars to before Toreno's missions this is what I did.

Mind you that my gold splits still has mistakes within them they aren't the best I've ever done nor is the RNG best case scenario that you can lay your hands on, it's the reason why I posting my "comparison" video above to show you that even the golds aren't the very best. Those splits only have my previous PB, the PB I have now, and the "comparison" splits on them, not my overall best ever.

In the video below is my gold splits going against Cazpersky. Granted Caz is a much better speedrunner than I ever will be and that is just the truth! About 20x better in all reality, and also I'm running off of controller while he is using mouse & keyboard so not only is he a better runner than I am. He is also using the better method of running this game. The run I am showing here is his ASM PB as of right now time of [ 6:05:27 ].

If your time is short; I start the timer just how I did with my "comparison" video starting the timer at the "Mission Pass" after "Driving School". At the end of the video there's 11 seconds difference in-between our times, however, he didn't grab the camera and he had 4 seconds faster "Monster" race time than me. So really we are very even by the end of "Introduction". Again he is a much better runner than I am and he is using the best method of running this game and we are about even at the end of "Introduction"

Let it be known I am not calling Cazpersky slow or anything alike, that'll be pointless of me cause it won't ever be true, his worst is my best and that's if I'm lucky and got much better lol.

I do hope these videos and text helps you decide which route is better or faster but I do believe I've made my point. I am now taking back my original statement that this saves almost a minute. I'll cut it back and say it saves anywhere in-between 30-40 seconds.

Here is how I figure that amount of time:

1. 31 seconds from "Zeros Shop" to "Wang Cars". 1:03 from starting "Monster" from the "Garage" (with a cop bike heading to the boat). A difference of 32 seconds (+32) = (this can increase or decrease depending on vehicle and route. I think its safe to say that these times is a very good time to compare to given you can go flying off the boat and lose more time or hit rocks, get a bad car etc. )
2. it takes about 27 seconds to run from the "Garage" to "Wang Cars" to "Zeroing In". This one is a bit tricky to compare, but I'll say, The drive from "Wang Cars" to the start of "Zeroing In" is 17 seconds (+42)
3. 38 seconds to shoot down the choppers with the guided missile launcher, and 32 seconds with the mini gun. (+48) = (Again you can lose time with either method or gain time with either method, but I'm going off the time that I'm showcasing here).
4. However you don't get a "free" NRG. The 1st NRG can cost you in-between 10-15 seconds lets say the worst one of 15 seconds so that is (+33).

I’ve look through the level leader boards and I couldn’t see where any of the races started before the count down ended. The only place that I know of that happens at is blood bowl and that happens because of a phone call coming in while starting that mission. As far as I know you can achieve this on ps4 as well as pc however I would need a video example of what you’re talking about to help you further.

Here is my advice...

How I learn to do any speedrun is take it by level at a time or a segment at a time to learn them and know what I need to do in each part.

How I suggest to learn 100% is too do LS then Badlands then SF then LV then RTSF then RTLS. So start at LS learn everything you need to do before moving into badlands and keep doing that segment until you learn it to where you can complete it without forgetting anything you had to do then moving on to the next segment and the same thing with the new segment and just repeat that until to reach the end game.

It’s going to take a while before you will learn everything I’ll say a good month or 2 of playing almost everyday and learning what you have to do watch ( as time of this comment ) Dates, GoingTotallyHam, and Faulx. Those runs are using the latest strats and just follow in their footsteps of what they are doing in each segment and even go to their streams and ask questions if you have any after you try and learn from watching their videos and try to do it yourself.

Best of luck with learning this run it’s a long one as I’m sure you’re very aware of and it’ll take some time to learn everything but it’s a very unique kind of run and hope you enjoy it!

You can buy the game then downgrade it and the auto splitter will work and you won’t have a crack game. Any runner won’t promote using a crack game as that being illegal in most countries.

No a in-video timer is not a requirement. Just an accurate end time in the submission is a requirement. Good luck with your runs!

of course make sure you have the game open while checking that but....

no your autospitter isn't detecting the game. that is why it isn't splitting try resetting the pc a full shut down and reset it back up and see if that helps then try running livesplit as administrator.

it'll say Game Version: (1.0 or 1.01 or whatever you're using ) on the top right hand of the photo you just showed.

It’s a run that uses a cheat engine so you can dupe missions that normally we couldn’t dupe in a normal run so that is why it’s so much faster.
