Was trying that kill on Nestopia with monitor/keyboard and that was hard. Even with savestate practice it felt pretty random, like happenning time to time. Actually input lag is not that critical for most NES games, you can get used to it.
You can reset the game by pressing Start, then Select. The warp from koffingrockz's run possible with 2 players (2 controllers) only. Last boss glitch in WR seems very random, most likely dependant on horizontal screen scrolling and global timer.
As far as I know NES/SNES classics' runs are banned cause of hardware differences. Like emulation is not accurate.
There are Legit% categories, I guess you are looking for these. "you are NOT allowed to use rapid fire (firing at fast speeds using an auto clicker or modded controller)"
I wonder why you asking, there are a lot of runs at the leaderboards made on emulator, tagged with [Emu] at "Platform" column. I would recommend Nestopia 1.40 or last version of FCEUX as emulator to play. As regards the rules, most common ones are applicable. Like, you need proper game rom to play, usually marked as [!], no cheating, no turbo buttons, no simultaneous left+right or up+down presses. Most of the SDA rules are applicable to speedrun.com, but not all of them: https://kb.speeddemosarchive.com/Rules
I don't think it's legal, like piracy. Added you at discord, can send a link there.
And here is current WR route (to not watch whole 50 min video again):
I would recommend to pick up these items for safety (not mentioned at the map): Area 3 (before corridor fight): Shield and Red Lander Area 5 (before corridor fight): Blue Lander Area 6 (before corridor fight): Shield and Fireball Area 7 (after corridor fight): don't die after corridor, kill red crab at Area 6 to get Red Lander and buy another one for 600 chips higher Area 10: buy Fireball if you got 2000 chips
There are also some EE at the map if you lack them/learning the game.
I guess it's a bit faster, but not sure. You can also push yourself farther with some inputs.
Make that category please. Like tokko_tomcat mentioned, it will be more friendly for new players.
Hello everyone.
We have talked with Dormouse about new category — Glitchless for Kyatto Ninden Teyandee (Samurai Pizza Cats).
Here are the rules we came to. No glitches are allowed, this includes:
- auto-attacking
- fast digging
- double ninpo use for cost of one
- boss quick-kills
- any new discovered glitches
What do you think about it? Maybe you have some suggestions for rules?
Hello. Can anyone be the mod of Silver Surfer (NES)? http://www.speedrun.com/Silver_Surfer#Any This is not a popular game, so just one run was added. I made good 31:05 run for any%, but the current mod is inactive for at least 1 month (and I tried to contact him). You can also add me as moderator if nobody wants to.
The game on NES is not Co-op, it's single player. You can play as Captain America OR Hawkeye, that's it. You can also check that at official game manual. //there is such category
Made runs on Nestopia v1.40 (last official version), and I think FCEUX 2.2.2 or 2.2.3 are allowed too.
LateNightRetro, actually you can't. Quote from http://speeddemosarchive.com/lang/rules_en.html :
"For realtime, timing begins when the player first gains control of the game's character, and stops when control is lost at the end of the game."
I'm using FCEUX 2.2.2 (last version) with default settings http://www.fceux.com
