the top run in any%, https://www.speedrun.com/tomid/run/z0716dey - is using a zoomhack. the first zoom-out occurs at 0:14 but you'll see it happen throughout as zoom levels change naturally.

there is no glitch, that can only be done via third party software.

one other thing: you'll have to watch out for runs that get "really lucky" by finding the bridge on their first foray, things like that, since the seed can be manipulated by cheaters and explored beforehand. same for getting some very rare rune or item drops. think of things like Destiny's manipulations. those are all possible.

You don't even need the Ranger skill to do the first level of zoom out, just hit Page Up or Page Down to change zoom levels...
