I recently heard you can uncap the frame rate for ags games by pressing ctrl+e. In Hob's barrow this massively speeds up the game removing a lot of the downtime and waiting during cutscenes whilst also speeding up animations including walking. I am still learning the game and managed to get a 37 minute run with it.
I was wondering if we could make this a sub category or seperate category maybe just called "unrestricted" where we allow to uncap and use tools like rtss to limit it to a consistent frame rate (I was getting crashes with 400+fps but around 200fps worked very well). It just feels like it could be fun but I think allowing it on the main any% would be a little unfair as I think it is does give a quite different experience as playing casually. I'm interested ro hear anyone elses thoughts as I believe it could make a fun and much more fast paced run.
Lil video of how it looks fully uncapped:
What a great discovery! We definitely can make an alternate category for this setting. Thank you for posting this!
No problem, that would be great. I fully intend to do regular any% but this definitely would be a fun side thing. Apparently it's a well known thing with the AGS engine but I am pretty unfamiliar with it myself I just saw someone post about it for another game in the speedyadventures discord and it turned out to give interesting results in this game.
