Today the anniversarial leaderboard renovation has been concluded. I hope you all will see its current state as an improvement. I certainly do, though I do need to mention that a part of it does vex me a tiny bit.
In the community vote we both agreed to condense all categories into subcategories the way you can see now, but we also wanted to keep the no hold runs on the site. And unfortunately the only way to do both is to make every category on the board have a no holding variant. I hope most of you can understand how that might not be very desirable, but even more so when you consider the sheer amount of subcategories that have now stacked on top of each other. With the new addition of custom/default tuning, the total amount of non-mobile categories sky-rocketed to 90! That is way more than necessary and personally I would love to be able to cut it in half by removing the holding/no holding distinction. Unfortunately that will remove all of the current no hold runs but I do believe that is for the best. Otherwise we will have quite a number of similar, pointless category pairs. Let me know what your opinion is on this issue, I realize not everyone voting on keeping no hold in the poll might've fully realised the consequences. And since in the long run it could be a great benefit, would you support letting go of no hold?
That discussion out of the way, the new leaderboard has finally taken shape, and as such I will be announcing a bounty for the next week or so. It is a minor one, but still, just to drive competition and fill out some of the new, currently empty, categories. The person who by the end of the month has the biggest amount of points will receive 5$ (USD). Points will be granted for holding a top 3 time in any category upon the conclusion of the contest. And they can stack by having top times in multiple categories. 1st: 4 points 2nd: 2 points 3rd: 1 point
