Hi i've just finished SOMA and would like to try and learn to spedrun it. I have noticed that everyone is playing on eaither SOMA version 1.0.0 or 1.0.2. As I have played SOMA on steam, it has been reguarly updated by itself. Now I would like to know if there is anyway to "downgrade" SOMA to version 1.0.0?

Acording to Sychotixx.

"nobody looked into downgrading. you would not be able to downgrade without having a copy of all the map files and the executable, so finding a copy of 1.00 online or dealing with patched glitches are your only options."

So I guess that's my only option for now. If anyone have a link to any map files and whatnot pleas feel free to share them with me :)

I haven't tried it though so not sure if it works.

I tried that. My download speed was abysmal when I tried that method, but it seemed like it might work if the download completed.

Okey so another update here on how things are going.

I ran into a few problems trying JDev's method... but it actually worked... kind of.

So I've managed to downgrade the game and thats great and all but when I tried to launch it the game crached and said that there was an error in the game code(regarding the save function)...

But with my minimal coding "skills" i've managed to track down the code and disable the ability to save and load a game. However starting a complete new game works fine.

Also I've noticed that when I'm running the devTool The game droppes frames from time to time which doesn't happen when I run the steam version so to say.

All in all almost everything seem to be working for now. If I were to run into anymore problems I'll be back with more updates.

Also if there is anyone that have had the same kind of issues as I have feel free to leave any comments :)

Hello, I know this is an old post but I have some questions. I have tried the method the JDev posted, but to no avail. Is the any other way of getting an earlier version of this game? I would very much like to run this game as I think it is great, but with my current version I am unable to do many of the glitches. Maybe I am out of luck with this one. Thank you for your time, TM
