Sub 1h 30m in 3D World is definitely possible, especially since LuigiMaster brought the record down to 1h 32m 20s today. (Off-Subject) I never wanted to speed run 3D World because I thought it was going to take me 4 hours, because my first Mario Odyssey speed run was 3h 49m and something seconds, but now I’m interested in speed running it.
NEW WORLD RECORD Now it’s 1h 32m 19s by @shoyu_parfait.
I though shoyu was a fluke but apparently luigimaster has competition now
that's a good thing I like it when 2 runners keep exchanging WRs
I think it could go as low as 1:1x:xx if Toad crouch jumps become a norm (they're faster but have a smaller frame window for the trick).
I don't think sub 1:20 is even close to being possible. This is because there are only few levels where Toad's crouch boosts are faster than Luigi's. And even on those few levels, it's only like a second or less faster in ILs. So in RTA, with many starts and stops when getting stars, Toad's crouch boosts would be even less faster. It's also not the crouch boosts making Toad a bit faster, it's that since he jumps lower, he can do more within a section (ex. 5 crouch boosts with Luigi is faster than 5 crouch boosts with Toad. But crouch boosting the entire 5-4 land would be about 1 igt faster with Toad than Luigi as he can do more crouch boosts within that section than Luigi can.) So as of now, it looks like only a 1:28:XX is possible theoretically for now. And with the few seconds of timesave with Toad crouch boosts, it will still be around a 1:28:XX.
How do you master crouch boosts? I know how to do it but I can’t do it constantly is there an easier way to do crouch boost
It could be a sub 1:30 but only if they go for the most craziest strays possible like more crouch boosts you loads instead of like 25 instead of 10 per level
