Hi everyone! Yesterday we decided to allow runs preformed on CemU to be submitted to the leaderboard. These runs are hidden by default. You can view them by going to Filters > Emulator runs > Show. We have also added rules regarding runs preformed on emulator, make sure to read them before submitting a run.
Rules Regarding emulator runs:
- You must cap the FPS to 30 FPS (As this is what the game normally runs at).
- Cemu is the only allowed emulator.
- You are allowed to use the built in portal emulator, with the same restrictions as NFC cards.
- You must run on an unmodified rom. (Just like on Console)
Thats all, happy running!
Hey all!
At request from the community, time spent in the Pandergast trophy cutscene has been removed from applicable current runs and will be removed from future runs. The issue with these cutscenes is that they will play on a NEW file if trophies have been scanned in on ANY save file, at any time.
We don't want to impose a disadvantage to any Any% runners who don't want to delete or can't delete their game's global save data. We also don't want to make runners feel like they have to create a new save file on a new account (or after deleting their global save data) with all their figures scanned in - excluding trophies - just for the sake of avoiding that cutscene.
Only two runs have had a change in placement as a result of this change in rules: Kory_'s Nightmare Any% (5th -> 4th), and Jensj56's Nightmare Any% (4th -> 5th).
In other news, I am working on creating a retiming guide which explicitly states what frames we use when timing runs. It will have visual references for most of, if not all of, the frames we use. I hope that this helps provide transparency to our process, and hope that it will make learning to retime this game more accessible for new moderators. This guide will cover all of the categories on this board, but not include specific rules for any run on the category extension board.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! Have fun running!
