I try to capture the entire window of bgb but the top of the window is just replaced with other windows o_o . Not really sure how to fix

Use Monitor Capture and just manually select the area you need, that's what I do.

Yeah window capture doesn't work that well with emulators, so use the monitor capture and sub-region the bit you need

It has nothing to do with emulators really, windows 10 just somehow manages to fuck up the OBS classic window capture. It happens in other programs for me as well.

What i do is, before i start recording in OBS, minimize everything except OBS and BGB, make sure they don't overlap, then start recording. The top bar then appears, though it does sometimes also capture a small border around the game.
