Here's your 4 minute No Man's Sky speedrun.

With Creative difficulty giving you almost free reigh on everything, you can go exactly where you need to go with very little effort (as of Next Generations patch at any rate). Some RNG remains in distances travelled and just how good your menuing is, but overall the run is rather mundane. Nonetheless, here is a brief guide on the how-tos:

• timer starts once you spawn in (no Begin Initialization in this mode), and ends once the Centre Cutscene plays
• your choice of controller to use, but honestly the best menuing for such a short category can be done with mouse+keyboard; as I use a DS4 controller primarily, some of my instructions will reflect the according buttons

Build a Colossal Craft (Up - Left - [Tech] - Up - Right -[ExoCraft] - Up - Right, place away from ship).

Jump in, Build Signal Booster (Touchpad+Square), apply its components, back to the menu (Circle to go back), Build Tau Booster, apply its components, back out. The location of these two Builds don't matter.

Down. Scanner (press X). Far right to Alien Structures. X to scan. Jump out. You should exit the vehicle around the same spot you jumped in.

Get in your ship (Square) and Launch (R2). Hold R2 to launch ASAP as your players is adjusting his seat. Immediately boost with Circle and arc your way to the Monolith. Any one shorter than 30 seconds is good, otherwise you can reset. You'll travel faster the higher in the atmosphere you are.

Once near the Monolith, land (Square), and during this animation quickly build the Hyperdrive and apply its components.

Jump out of your ship (Square) and Jetback-Melee boost to the circle outside the monolith.

Mash through the text. For Vy'keen select the middle option (Stand-In), and for Korvax select the top option (Wait). Talk again to the now glowing circle, and hit the first option to find a Portal.

Back in your ship, boost into space. Once you see the stars, turn to the Portal icon and Pulse Jump. During this time you should fuel your Hyperdrive (remember, its free). Should be 5 seconds away in Pulse speed.

Land at the Portal, activate the 16 symbols (mouse clicking is fastest), and enter the address:

After the cutscene, Melee Jetback into the Portal, watch the colors, the ship should be to your right, hop in, fly into space.

Open the Galactic map (Down, first option), and you should be beside the Centre. Try to (press and hold right) travel towards the Galaxy Centre (takes several seconds to make the distance).

You've just beaten Creative mode.
