Hi all,
I've been playing Micro Mages on my AVS (hardware emulated NES from retroUSB) and I'm considering speed-running it. Would it be okay to do it on the AVS?
I did a bit of research, and it seems that there isn't much of a difference between the original NES and the AVS. However, there might be less lag on the AVS, which could change runs slightly. I don't think that there's enough of a difference to disqualify the AVS though. So, my suggestion would be to put a note about the AVS in the description of the run. I'm not much of an expert though.
A bit late on answering but the AVS from Retro USB uses an hdmi mod that caps the frame rate at 60, so it is actually slower than an original nes. Other than that there is no difference with the hardware!
