Console Controller Input Display
Texas, USA

When practicing speedruns on emu before console (PS2 specifically), I've used OJD. What hardware/software would one need to capture console inputs for stream similarly to OJD? I've seen MUNIA online, but it appears to be sold out. Looking mostly for mostly my PS2, but will also need something for the GameCube in the future. Any help or suggestions would be very appreciated!

ive been making and selling some input displays.

they are really cheap and easy to make. the retrospy website has a bunch of diy text based guides on making them https://retro-spy.com/wiki/playstation-1-2-on-arduino-getting-started-2/

but in short you need an arduino (ive been bying cheap arduino nanos from aliexpress) and an extension cable for the controller of your choice.

you cut the cable in half to reveal and then peel the wires inside. you use a multimeter to check which wire is which pin in the controller port.

with the pins figured out, you can twist the wires back together, slide through the holes in the arduino and solder in place.

the minimum tools required is: a soldering iron, matches (to peel the wires by burning the coat off of them) and an box cutter to cut the thick outer cable.

im up to the idea of making and selling you one if you want. just dm me on discord.

I had actually just finished reading through these tutorials as it was recommended to me somewhere else. I actually do have these items laying around, so I think I'll see if I can look into following the tutorial but I'll definitely reach out if it stumps me!
