Unity Ports have received a new update in how the game will display the standard way runs are archived.
- ITYTD CATEGORY IS NOW ANY%-
ITYTD will still be accepted for the Any% category. You are now able to submit both 'Hey Not to Rough' and 'Hurt Me Plenty' Difficulties to the Any% board in the full game section, and IL section, they will be listed along with ITYTD, and show the difficulty played on.
All times have been given ITYTD by default.
A few UV and NM runs will need to be categorized as such, and will be arranged properly in the next few days.
UV and NM IL's remain unaffected. The only IL's this will effect is ITYTD, which is now 'Any%'
- NEW CATEGORIES -
All levels:
This category is like Any%, while also including the secret levels. You are not required to kill all the enemies, or find all the secrets in every map, just include the secret level/s in your run.
Cheat%: Added by popular demand. Complete the segment with all in game cheats allowed.
Doom Unity has recently become the first console version of Doom with over 1,000 submitted runs! The community continues to grow at a steady pace, with over 100 runs submitted in the last week. The new categories are live now, and already have submissions for a greater portion of the runs available.
The mods will still be on the look out for any submitted runs that are not tagged with the correct difficulty in the full game section. Let us know if one of your runs falls under this issue in the discord provided on the left navigation bar.
Will the boards take into consideration that the IGT now has an accurate millisecond timer? It wasn't long added in the September 2020 update. Just curious as to what your take on it will be.
I think the boards are just going to stay the same but with 0s added on (for the older runs) for milliseconds, considering the fact that the board has like 1500+ runs submitted. That being said, If it comes down to first place times or times that you think might be faster than a run with 0s for milliseconds, then I would think they would be retimed.
I could be wrong but I think that's mostly how the board goes by considering the amount of runs they would have to retime.
For IL boards, IGT will always be a thing (including milliseconds now) and slowly but surely getting most times retimed to the perfect millisecond. Not all runs may not if no one has reached the time maybe, unless its tied. The IL board submission has a section to type down the milliseconds. For reason most people type it in incorrectly :D Full game is still RTA because no total time on the end screen but its still been retimed to the perfect millisecond (including screen melts). Again, not everything will be retimed to the millisecond from the past update unless its tied.
Reason why not everything will be retimed because like Letterbomb said there are 1500+ runs and obviously don't really have the time and importance for that. But most of them at least.
Hey all you Doomers! What a joy it has been this month to have 2 add-ons added to the game! This time around we've got Sigil II made by the man himself, John Romero!
