Credit to MisterMunkki for the elevator zip on this mission.
Here's the setup I found to make it reliable:
There is a 3 pixel area where the left most pixel prompts you to activate the button, the center pixel has no prompt, and the right pixel prompts you to activate the elevator. Position yourself on the left or right pixel (I use the right one because the prompt changes are a good visual cue). When you're in the right spot, input up and left at the same time. That's it.
If you walk away from the elevator and it goes down, you didn't do up+left close enough together. If the elevator shoves you out, kills you, or sucks you on, you were too far on to the elevator.
This mission is the only one with an elevator I've been able to zip on without dying.
