I know what i said seems weird but how do you do that? In the route video BraDak46 does it consistently and i'm not sure how you would do it :/

you have to quickly turn the opposite direction of the crank you are facing. If you're close enough, it will teleport you to the other side of the crank so that you're not cranking in mid-air.
