Would that be an IL or a shortened category? I've always thought that good places to shorten the main run to would be collecting 2 or 4 of the sea charts. I personally find the temple of the ocean king to be the most fun part of the game, so it makes sense to have a run category that ends right after the 4th sea chart.
Keep in mind, I'm not a serious runner of this game because I don't have any way to capture it, so I don't really need to be included in any decision.
IL means "Individual Level" which essentially means just completing a part of the game like a single temple. Usually you'll start the timer at the start of the level/temple and stop it at the completion point.
RTA is a timing method for runs and stands for "Real Time Attack" which essentially means don't stop or pause the timer until the run is over or you reset the run.
ILs or full game runs are usually always timed as RTAs. So what you're asking for is basically an IL - complete the Fire Temple as fast as possible. Unless you're asking for an arbitrary run like "start from a fresh file and go up until Fire Temple". Creating Misc. categories like that will be up to the mods.
Fire Temple might be a bit short of a category. My best time for Fire Temple RTA is 19:54, which isn't very long.
IIRC, people used to run Ghost Ship RTA, where the goal is to beat Cubus Sisters basically. That one's a decent length imo (my record is 1:33:35), but something like Temple of Wind RTA would be a good length too (My best is 51:05).
I'm not a mod, so I can't make it, but I'd be fine with making some kind of shorter category for this game. Any% is pretty long.
Personally, I would be fine with the Cubus Sisters/Ghost Ship RTA because it's what I deem like the midway point before all the big stuff happens in the run. Kind of like Harp in Skyward Sword. I can add it, but it's also going to be under misc. categories like Forest Temple as it's not a full run from start to the credits.
Hey potential Emulator runners,
The Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks mods have been discussing emulator eligibility recently. As of today, we will start allowing Emulator runs to be accepted into the leaderboards. The game rules have been updated to include the rules for emulator. For now this is
