Individual Level speedrun - Déjà Vu: "It's a Trap!" - Disciple difficulty - PC EU - done in 1:05 (1m 5s 83ms) starting from the first skippable cutscene up to the final loading screen.
0:04 The major skip in this level happens right at the very start. When the in-game cutscene begins, you retain control of your character for a very brief period of time. I abused this to perform a forward roll through the wet-wall. This skips about half of the level and makes the rest faster with less enemy spawns. More details on its execution with a Joypad: hold focus, hold forward, skip movie cutscene, mash roll immediately, and finally interrupt game cutscene before Neo takes a step back. Not easy. The inputs in this game are very unresponsive so you might need several attempts. You have to roll far enough to bypass both walls. Too short and you get stuck with no way out. I can't reproduce this on keyboard, my theory for this limit on kb&m is that Neo forcefully draws his gun which slows him down by a little, and also the lack of an analog stick means less freedom to get that optimal trajectory. This is probably not a recommended strategy to use in a full speedrun, since you will also be skipping 2 forced upgrades, including 5 HIT COMBO! 0:35 wallrunning here is faster than climbing stairs, you're also dodging 2 enemies, and looks way cooler 0:43 don't shoot alone, trigger Apoc first (he's a beast) 0:58 grabbing the rocket launcher saves time on the final door
