Game configuration : -I took Oumaji because they have Riders who travel faster. -Only one opponent for obvious reason. -I took easy difficulty but maybe the development pattern of the ennemy are better on other difficulties, never tried.
Strategy : -Dont train or construct anything, just find the ennemy capital without fighting. -Trying to avoid forest because it slows the Rider (good thing oumaji's territory has almost no forest). -Very RNG-based run : -You must spawn near the ennemy -You must not spawn too close or you will encounter an ennemy unit = you will lose time with encounter dialog + attack menu when you stop near the unit + attack animation when he will defend his capital -The ennemy must not train an unit so you don't have to fight to enter in the capital -The ennemy must send his only unit away from his capital AND in the opposite direction -The ennemy must not come back to defend his capital when you take it (or be already too far) -The ennemy must not take a second city while you capture his capital (yea it happens even in easy ...)
past strategies : -I started by training a 2nd Rider on first turn and rushing with them but in a run against Imperius I noticed my second rider did nothing. So I started to play the strategy above to reduce my time by not having to train and move a second rider.
Improvement : -I tried to improve this time by restarting games until the 2 captitals are touching but seeing an ennemy unit trigger additional menus and animations and make me lose more times than the additional traveling turn. -I think the only improvement is to click faster unless someone find a faster strategy with another tribe.
-MOD NOTE- good run, I shall put the strategy mentioned here into the guides section of the Polytopia Speedruns
There has recently been some major updates to the Polytopia game. In fact, the changes to the AI and the recent balance changes, as well as results off of the poll done in our discord server, have led us to make the decision to split Versions into 2 categories: Versions 1-51 and Versions 60+.
