You could also look into sourcesplit -- it could probably be adapted to TF2.

How do you guys get your ingame timers? Google gives me some github repo that was archived in 2019 (haven't tested it). It appears that sourcesplit never got adapted for TF2.

Edit: I started using https://one.livesplit.org/ with OBS to overlay the timer on top of the captured game video. The downside is that requires alt-tab + manual click. This adds time both before the start and after the finish of a run

@thiscris I also use the same config, what do you need alt+tab for?

Personally I usually have OBS recording for the whole thing, I uses 1 on my numpad to start livesplit and then ffmpeg to cut the video

@Xwilarg as it is a webpage, I have to change focus from TF2 to the browser before I can interact with it. I can only record with OBS if the game is in fullscreen mode. So it isn't the most comfortable way to interact with a timer
