But yeah, in terms of neck snaps/melee categories, definitely going to be a no, way too similar (likely almost identical in 99% of cases) to fiber wire.
The problem with adding new categories like NMG is that we'd have to define what constitutes a major glitch, which is really hard to get everyone to agree on.
One example of how defining what's a major glitch is hard: I wouldn't consider a bomb launch to be a major glitch, or hardly a glitch at all, because it's literally just one object pushing another through the game's physics system, and from there it can be aimed.
We'd probably be best off taking inspiration from other prior works from other games' communities. I'll see if I can ask around as to how people came to a consensus.
when the game is out, it's currently expected somewhere between 2024 and 2026
WHAT
Escalations now have their own game: https://speedrun.com/hitman_3_escalations - locking this thread.
No, there is not enough interest and this category really isn't a complication, given that no loadout already basically includes this. It's pointless.

@zencd, my thoughts on the matter:
Master is interesting for a few levels, but not all of them. People focus on the levels where it's not affecting stuff.
Many of the master runs are really just pro strategies tweaked to work on master, given that master mode is just added RNG with footsteps and such, with the occasional actual change in S1 (e.g. added guards), and maybe a bit in S2, but season 3's master mode bricks don't actually add any of that, just the AI tweaks.
Master speedrunning often isn't harder, it's just more RNG. You can copy-and-paste the vast majority of pro strats to master with maybe a few minor tweaks here and there.
Before anybody makes the argument of harder = better for speedrunning, consider that the standard category in most game is the fastest, so if anything casual would be the more standard default category.
TL;DR:
- Master changes barely anything
- Right now, the majority of people running it are just doing it to get a quick world record
- Ideally, people should start playing professional (the default difficulty), more
I believe the moderation team discussed this in the past, not remembering off the top of my head what the verdict was, so I've pinged Solder for his opinion.
Alright, you got me curious, I'm wondering how you have such low times on APWTiND and Unperson, I think my current strategy (at least for APWTiND) is capped, so I get the feeling I'm missing something.
Thanks @Archmagus. I'm also going to try to go for a full-game run sometime soon, so I will make sure to ask you if I do have questions.
