Hello. I am the moderator for the Silent Bomber and Forza Polpo! leaderboards on this site. However, due to my inactive status, I would like to transfer that duty to Joester98 (https://www.speedrun.com/users/Joester98). Except I am unable to do it myself.
I'm pretty sure it was boomerism on my part when I tried the first time but it seems I have also lost my super mod status to allow me to do so.
When streaming/recording a run you must be able to capture the window to show what emulator is being used. BizHawk is able to display the status bar below the game window. That must be displayed. DuckStation will have specific requirements below. You are able to run without showing the window. You must also state what emulator is being used when submitting your run.
Accepted Emulators: • XEBRA • BizHawk 2.8 or newer (Octoshock and Nymashock are allowed). • mednafen • DuckStation 0.1-4790-g50db81af or newer [Recommended]
Accepted Emulator on Mac: • OpenEmu
BizHawk Setup: Games can only run under the cue format. • Config > Speed/Skip > Audio Throttle If you're using the Octoshock core • PSX > Options • Select either mednafen mode option To verify that you are running with Audio Throttle enabled you must hit the increase/decrease speed keys [plus/minus] it will display a message on screen.
DuckStation Dedicated Rules: You must be using the NoGUI version, that means a keybind for Quick Menu is required. These settings can be set in the Qt version of DuckStation. You must show settings of the core settings before/after the run. Your settings must match this: Interface Menu (NoGUI Setting) • Pause On Menu: Disabled BIOS Settings • Fast Boot: Disabled Console Settings • 8MB RAM: Disabled • CPU Emulation - Execution Mode: Interpreter (Slowest) • No change in Clock Speed • CD-ROM Emulation to remain on defaults • Async Readahead: Disabled (Synchronous) • Read/Seek speedump set to None (Normal Speed) • Preload Image to RAM: Disabled • Apply Image Patches: Disabled Emulation Settings • Emulation Speed set to 100% • Runahead: Disabled Display Settings • Auto (Game Native) or 4:3 • Cropping overscan is allowed Enhancement Settings • Widescreen Hack: Disabled • Force NTSC Timings: Disabled • Recommended: Keep PGXP Disabled Custom settings are allowed for anything that isn't mentioned such as internal resolution scale. We would allow enabling "Show Enhancement Settings" to simplify the end user side, however some of the settings do not appear if they're enabled.
NOTE: All existing runs done on different emulators will be grandfathered in and will not be removed from the leaderboards.
I have updated the NTSC-US leaderboard to include PAL version as well. There doesn't seem to be any difference between the two. However, if a disparity does show then a seperate category will be taken in consideration. But for now I see no problem in putting the two together.
Very well. I have reinstated the segmented leaderboard under the MISC section. Re-submit your run and I'll approve it as soon as I am notified.
Hello! I am Triple Six and I have recently become the new moderator for this leaderboard. I'm aware that Silent Bomber is an obscured PS1 game and that there are very few people (if at all) who follow what goes on here. But I still would like to prop up a thread to discuss some additions and removals in hopes that it will galvanize some interest.
If anyone has objections or suggestions then we can discuss them here or we can discuss them on the discord server. I have recently made a community discord to garner a wider interest and to attract would-be speedrunners into the scene.
Discord invite: https://discord.gg/j6zQR6d44g (If the invite link ever expires, please notify me on the forum or through dms).
Here are the changes so far...
Adding:
• In the NTSC-US version you can skip the training segment. However, you HAVE to go through the training level in the NTSC-J version. I have decided that this warrants a category separation. An NTSC-J leaderboard has been added to submit speedruns played on the Japanese version.
Removing:
• I have removed the Individual Level leaderboards. No one has ever submitted a run and I don't see the point in having them. If anyone feels different about the matter then I will reinstate them.
• I have also removed the segmented leaderboard. Again, I don't see the point in having it around and I doubt anyone will submit a run.
I am requesting modship (second time) for the Silent Bomber leaderboard ( https://www.speedrun.com/silent_bomber ). I was denied in my first attempt and decided to wait out the 21-day period (as well as paying more attention to the requisites).
The current moderator of the leaderboard has not been active in the past 5 months.
I have attempted to contact him via discord on the 10th of January. I have not received a response since. I use discord frequently and I have never seen him logged on.
I have attempted to contact him via twitter. Again, I did not receive a response.
It has officially been 21 days since I have posted my run, it is still pending.
Edit: I just remembered that I also sent out a friend request to his Twitch account (since I can't whisper to him otherwise) that friend request is still pending.
I have E-mail authentication on.
I have added twitter as an alternative way to contact me (my primary is discord).
I would appreciate a specific response if there are any requirements that I have not met or if there is any reason why I would be denied moderator status.
I am requesting modship for Silent Bomber ( https://www.speedrun.com/silent_bomber ). The moderator has not logged in for over 5 months. I've attempted to contact him on discord but he hasn't replied yet nor has he ever logged in I believe.
