I have a DOS and a Windows version but they seem to be different than the one used in the WR.

Are there any particular hotkeys or tech I should know before learning this game? Basically after any tips that I can't get just by watching the WR run
When timing the run when do I start the timer and when do I stop it?
Not sure if anyone is active around here but I'm thinking about running this game and had a couple of questions. Is the route used in the WR "perfect" or should I start from scratch and see if I can figure out another one? Also, are all the steps in the WR required or could there be some further optimisation by skipping any of the parts? I guess this boils down to how much time has been put into this game? I see there are a few runners so I'm guessing the WR is pretty optimised. The other point and click games I've run have had little to no other runners so it would be good to pick up a game that I can discuss with people.
Edit: I guess I should also ask are there any tips or tricks you could give me in regards to actually playing the game? Any keyboard/mouse shortcuts, ways to quickly skip dialogue or cut scenes, etc.
I'm thinking of running this game but have been burnt by rng in the past. I know there's a bit of rng in this game but does bad rng waste much time?
I'm thinking about running this game but the last game I picked up involved one rng section combined with a really fast reaction time and it turned me off running it (for now anyway). So does this game have an rng section? And if so, is it a big time waster?
The first one is the clock in Zanydu. You can press them in the following order. Right, left, right, left, left, left. Next, when returning to Zanydu (after the first time) you can right click on Zanydu in the background to skip the travel animation. I also think getting the portable hole can save some time in travelling if the mini game can be solved in a reasonable time but that might require some work in getting the best pattern or resetting until getting the best pattern. Doesn't look like there's much love for this game but I thought I'd post my findings anyway.
I've just started practicing a single segment run for this game and have some questions. Where does your run differ from a single segment? Is there any rng manipulation or setup done in the fish mini game? I'm finding it hard to actually get the green fish as my reaction time isn't quick enough. Would it be worth going for the portable hole in the jail cell to cut down on travel time? I'll play around with it myself but was wondering if there is a reason you don't use it in your run. I'm running the game in scummvm so things might work a little differently but any help would be appreciated.
Looks like it's been removed from Twitch. Has it been uploaded anywhere else? I'm interested in running this game and would like to see the route that was used.
The video mentions you can manipulate the random encounters. Can you please explain this?
Not sure if anyone will actually read this but why the horn bet?
